    Memphis Hotels

Going to be first trip to a Bowl Game, wondering do a lot of ISU fans/alum try to stay in the same hotels? If so where can I find this info?Or does anyone know of good places there (hopefully near Beale St.)

I've recently stayed at the Memphis downtown Marriott and its very nice. Also, not far from Beale street (but not walking distance)

So as someone who has never bought a hotel room before would it be very hard to put 4 people in a two person room? Or is that frowned upon haha. It could make the trip a lot cheaper for a student with little income and we aren't too worried about being uncomfortable or anything.

You're not suppose to have extra people stay in one room but you could easily sneak people in. Just have two go buy the room at the front desk, head up to the room, have the other two meet you up there.

Also, what is the bad part of Memphis? I'm assuming staying near Beale St. will keep us in the clear.

Is there a price difference between a 2 and 4 person room? I always most hotels charge the same no matter how many people are staying in a room.

Yeah when i searched 1 room for 2 people vs 1 room for 4 people the price doubled. I'm guessing it goes from 1 large bed to 2 large beds or two twins to two large beds. I don't really know though

I think there is a difference, that or they try and sign you up for another room.
Parents always try to hide my youngest brother when we stop at a hotel, so I guess it's more of an assumption on my part. I don't recall any physical proof.

    Re: Memphis Hotels

My results were from an Expedia.com search. Unfortunately it looks like the cheaper hotels that the bowl provides are 5-10 miles from the stadium.

    Re: Memphis Hotels

After a little more research it does look there is a slight price increase for some hotels. I didn't see one double in price but it did go up another $8 on the one I saw. Looks like the price usually goes up for cheap hotels also.

    Re: Memphis Hotels

The last time we were there we stayed at Springhill Suites downtown so we're doing that again. There is a trolly in front of the hotel that takes you to Beale St.. We plan on staying there on Saturday and Sunday night and then staying somewhere out of town on new years eve.

Make sure you ask for two separate beds if you plan on four. For free breakfast, do it in shifts. Ask for extra towels.
