Would run on wifi & just user to play games, youtube videos, etc. Been looking at a few in the $120-150 range as she's only 9. Anywho anybody had any experience with FileMate Clear 7", Visual Land Prestige 10, or Visual Land Prestige 7L? Any other tips or recommendatios are welcome also.

Get her an iPad, otherwise she'll know you don't love her.

Something at that price is not out of the question, just not sure what to spend on a 9 year old who really will only use it for games and youtube videos. If she can do these things just as easily on the cheaper models I would go there. I do not own a tablet myself and have only done a little research on the Target, Wal Mart, and Best Buy sites so am not sure what is all out there and available. Which is why I came to CF for the best advise on the internet!

    Re: Tablet?

I'm mainly just sick of her always asking to use my phone to do these things at home if I'm on the laptop, so finding something to that will satisfy her and let me keep my phone next to me.

    Re: Tablet?

I don't have direct experience with those types of tablets, but they would mostly be okay I'd think. It'd be good if you could play with one, and I'd expect to run across some issues with apps from the play store maybe not working, a little screen lag, stuff like that.

You might also look at the Kindle Fire for $159, it's not the HD version, has some parental controls. I don't know if you have netflix streaming, or amazon prime to take advantage of some of those apps?
Kindle Fire - the Tablet from Amazon - Only $159

I have a co-worker who got a Nook, non-hd, for his kids and they love that. I have a galaxy nexus 7 and it's outstanding.

What kind of phone do you have, just curious as to the version of android it's running and the performance she's used to.

I don't do signatures. Blondes, brunettes, and red heads are a different story.

    Re: Tablet?

I have a Galaxy S3. I liked what I saw on the Visual Lands but there wasnt much tech feedback just customer feedback. The 10" is same price as a Nexus 7 so jot sure if larger screen is worth it since it doesnt have Google Play Store but some other app stores

My friend has a Nexus 7 and he had an iPad. He likes the N7 a lot better than the iPad actually
