    on earhead phone suggestions

Can anyone give me suggestions or advice on good over the ear headphones for the office? i don't need noise cancelling, but wouldn't complain if it had that function.

    Re: on earhead phone suggestions

I just picked up a pair of Urbanears for a couple airline flights I've had recently. Great over-the-ear coverage and a comfortable fit (at least for 2.5 hour flights)

They're retailing $60 on the site and at stores I found them at, but ordered them off Amazon for $37. Love them and they have superb sound for the price.

Sony has made these for YEARS. Started out as the industry standard for studio work now priced for consumers.

I have had a pair of these for years. They are a little bulky, but if you are just sitting in the office that probably wouldn't be an issue. Sound quality is great.

    Re: on earhead phone suggestions

I was going to get a pair of Beats by Dre (we tested several brands at Best Buy, and they really are very comfortable and have great sound quality). Like, the third one up in terms of cost, not the cheapest or second-cheapest. They were TOO noise-cancelling for my job, however, so I ended up getting some nice earbuds on Amazon on a Cyber Monday deal.

I like them... the cord is wrapped in a cloth like thing (idk what to call it) so it can bend nicely and had the speaker/advance/volume control thing on the cord as well.

Another nice feature is a 2nd jack in the headphones themselves so someone else sitting near you (worked for me on plane rides) can plug in and listen to the same thing

I have these and like them a lot: Amazon.com: Shure SRH440 Professional Studio Headphones (Black): Electronics

When I was shopping it was between these, the Sony's that ISUAgronomist posted, and the HD-280 that aeroclone posted. Any of those 3 are great choices.

    Newegg.com - Refurbished: SONY MDRXB300 3.5mm Gold-Plated Connector Supra-aural Extra Bass Headphone

Nice inexpensive pair. I have some and think they sound great. I'm not a huge audiophile, but I tried my roommates beats and I thought these sounded 10x better. It might have been the fact he downloads his music off youtube that it sounded terrible although...

    Also, they are amazingly comfortable.

Is the thread title weird to anybody else? At first I thought the OP was looking for a phone to put on his earhead (whatever that is).

I also was confused by earhead. It looks like it's the name of an audio company in VA?

I've always been a fan of Sony headphones. They have been outmarketed by the newer wave of headphones, but always reliable (maybe a bit flimsy sometimes, though).

I had a pair of these that I used pretty heavily until the left head snapped off, but I didn't take too much care of them.

    Re: on earhead phone suggestions

These are the best headphones I've ever owned. I've been wearing headphones for 6 hours a day for the last 7 years or so...Comfortable as all get out and the sound is simply the best I've ever experienced.

Realize though, S**t in - S**t out, they aren't the prettiest (but are you buying headphones or jewelry?) and they are open-backed so everyone around you will hear what you hear to a degree but your soundscape will be almost infinite.
