    New entrance with tunnel

I couldn't make the game Friday and Cyclones.tv doesn't pick the game up until the kickoff. Anyone have video of the new entrance or can describe it? Thanks!

It was really lame. Pollard said on the pre-game radio show that they essentially rushed the use of the tunnel just for the seniors, but they plan on doing much more with it to make it look better next season.

    You didn't miss anything.

Any specifics on what they plan doing with it?

    Re: New entrance with tunnel

I don't remember him getting into specifics with future plans for it. I think the gist of it was that they just really wanted to use it for senior day because it was mostly due to the work of those seniors that made the new facilities/tunnel possible.

It was senior day so it won't always be like that.

    Re: New entrance with tunnel

Ultimately it'll never live up to what most wouldve liked in a tunnel because the project went cheap and didn't go straight to the field. Its pretty pointless the way it is now, going to a sidewalk and then through the inflatable tunnel. If anything i think i mightve liked the old entrance better.

But as was said, its a work in progress. Final judgment will have to wait until next year.

Do we still have that inflatable helmet?

    Re: New entrance with tunnel

Not a tunnel comment, but they either need to flip the sidelines or do the SEZ with a visitor locker there. Otherwise they are just asking for trouble. Granted that is just my feeble opinion but it looks tacky and at some point there will be a fight because of it.

    Re: New entrance with tunnel

I think the red tunnel will be gone next year and the seniors specifically asked for it for sentimental reasons. I imagine next year they will walk down the tunnel and there will be a ton of smoke at the very least and it will be exactly like the team is running out directly onto the field. I'm sure some things will be added for next year as well but as it stands now it is a very bare bones product.

One huge benefit IMO is the Smoke on the Water anticipation riff doesn't have to be as long because it is a shorter walk which means the fans won't be tired of clapping along with it by the time the team runs out. I am also officially on the Thunderstruck bandwagon, but Smoke on the Water is good too.
