He looks like a me player up to this point. Dribbling between his legs unnecessarily and it goes off his foot out of bounds or is stolen. Bad shot selection, too many turnovers. Not impressed at all. The team looks better with Naz at the point at this point IMO.

My honest opinion is that he's not a high major PG. I hope I'm wrong and that he shakes out of it but I'm not sure that what we see isn't what we have.

Because he hasn't changed his ways at all and continues to make the same mistakes over and over again? Because he consistently tries to make the flashy play instead of the efficient play and he rarely converts?

So, basically the way we started last year.
He'll get there. It's only a handful of games right now.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

    Just to compare:

Korie...........MSU/ISU (MSU numbers are 3 year average)

    Avg. Minutes 17.5/27.0

    Avg. Points 4.8/7.7

    FG Pct. 34.1/28.6

    3 Pt. Pct. 31.8/34.3

    Avg. Assists 2.6/4.0

    Avg. Turnovers 1.6/4.0

-Be kind. That is something you will never regret. You will never say to yourself when you are old "I wish I was not good to that person".

I said that is the way he currently is. And then I said he obviously hasn't noticed because he hasn't changed anything. Will something change? I hope so. But there is no indication so far that he plans on it.

Last year the turning point was moving Royce from basically the 5 to the 1. That's when the team put it together. There is no big change to make like that this year. He needs to change his attitude and style in general.

Getting used to game speed again. I'm sure Fred is working with him, and that he will improve quite a bit.

Re: Lucious Needs to wake up

I was at the NC A&T game. An NC player had the ball and bumped into KL and no foul was called. KL then retaliated by trying to aggresively block the NC player and was called for a foul. Right after that he picked up another over-aggressive foul after we made a basket. Had to sit out the rest of the half. To me they were the kind of "pay-back" fouls you would see from a high school sophomore , not a 5th year college seniior.

Re: Lucious Needs to wake up

I don't think Clyburn is like RW at all, but Clyburn as a Scottie Pippen type point is our best look right now. We really wouldn't think that much of it if we hadn't had the tank of a power forward at point last year, guys built like Will run the point all the time in the NBA and from time to time for top college teams.

It also fits for getting our most productive scorer McGee on the court the most. Clyburn, McGee, Babb, Ejim, Booker is our best defensive lineup. Clyburn, McGee, Ejim, Gibson, Niang is our best offensive lineup so far.

I think this will change the same way Chris Allen lost ISU games early and won ISU games late in the season, but right now it's pretty clear that initiating the offense through Clyburn is the most effective.

I'm waiting for the posters who were upset that Custer committed because they thought we had too many PG's. Kind of like saying we have too many good QB's on our roster.

I always assume PG's will struggle their freshman year more than any other position, there are exceptions but generally they need more time. Look at how Tinsley was head and shoulders so much better than Hinrich as a freshman and sophomore but Hinrich still ended up a great Big 12 and NBA player, those two years made a huge difference.

I assume Fred is planning things out so we always have depth at point guard and never rely on freshman point guards giving us a ton of quality minutes.

Re: Lucious Needs to wake up

    Very talented but erratic player.

I think he expected himself to be the best player on the team. That is a role he is not good at.

Hopefully he does some good things to cancel out the bad. A big game against BYU would be a start. BYU is a team that can absolutely destroy similar or lesser talent so its a good measuring stick.
