I've seen a few teams using that this year. Common sense says if they miss that play it should be a fumble.
    Nope. I love the play.

No different than running a shovel pass.

That is a great point, and something I hope we can work in next year. A lot of their plays, their playmakers got the ball at full speed. Our guys always seem to get the ball standing still, and have to get going. Too slow developing.

Agreed. When you have speed and a good base running play, this misdirection works perfectly - as it did on us. Credit to them.

Sure can be (key word in first post is almost). If it is not ruled pass, it would be a fumble, correct? What determines if it is a pass is the key, demonstrated control or potential for control by the QB. The ruling it a pass is the subjective part. Fundamentally, my point is not too different than the tuck rule or whether a receiver made a "football" move in determining fumbles.

I was thinking it was too bad we didn't capitalize as WVU kept our drive a couple times with penalties...without them, didn't have a shot.

Im gonna get blasted for this but its the truth. Jeff woody is not a good a player the guy is overrated its just because of his name (woody) that people like him. The guy should only touch the ball in short yardage and block

smh, he is great for what he is a big physical/bruising back and blocker. He is a pretty important component of our offense.

Kind of out of left field on this arent you? Woody IS a short yardage back that blocks. He is a great change of pace and when on a roll, see OSU last year, he can hit the holes and be hard to bring down. Did he steal your girlfriend or something?

The KU game showed what he can do if given decent carries. Much more than a short yardage back. Think he would average 100 a game if we gave him 15-20 carries. Too many talented backs is a great problem to have.

    1) We didn't take advantage of the wind at our backs....especially the 4th quarter and our play-calling. The hurry-up after a 1st down and the following play we run it for 1-2 yards. Good Gawd

    2) See #1. and WV has a horrible PASS DEFENSE> Even in that weather--we should of thrown for 275-300 yards.

    Re: Last 6:40... Wow!

Woody's fumble was just weird. If you watch it there is a WVU player who has fallen onto his butt and when Woody dove the ball hit the guy directly in the helmet, which is what caused it to pop out. Woody always has two hands on the ball to protect it. I wonder why he only had it in one hand there.

We had three possessions in the 4th quarter.
-The first was a 3 and out facilitated by the PF on our lineman. Pass plays were called, but nothing was open, resulting in Sam running.
-The second we made a FG. The drive ended when a PASS to West was incomplete.
-The third, we passed plenty. We all know why that drive ended.

Your opinion would make sense if he was getting 25+ carries/game. He was in at the exact spot he's supposed to be. He fumbled and now he's overrated and only in because of his name? That's the dumbest reason I've ever heard.

Oh yeah, grammar and punctuation aren't overrated.
