We will never win again. Lighter in one hand, tickets in the other.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.

Our freethrow defense is terrible. Year-in, year-out, we seem to be one of the worst in the country.

I didn't get to see the game, but I think we'll be fine. Sounds like this season will go about like last year, which I'm perfectly ok with. UNLV will be tough tomorrow.

the positive is that ISU will have another chance to get a top 25 win/resume win...even though UNLV will be out of the rankings after the weekend no matter what.

Re: After the first real opponent, what do you think?

Everyone needs to chill. Cincinnati is an experienced team that is well coached and plays GREAT defense. Lucious and Clyburn will find their groove. You gotta give ISU credit for rallying back from down 16. Need to work on free throws and turnovers but those should get better by default as the season goes on. This UNLV game is a huge opportunity for our Cyclones. Keep your heads up, and go skin some Rebels!

Re: After the first real opponent, what do you think?

I hate to say it but Lucious looks like Chris Allen part 2 so far. Bad shot selection and too many turnovers, makes you wonder why Izzo did not shed a tear letting these 2 guys go. If Lucious really wants to help this team he needs to be a pass first PG and only take shots when he is open instead of chucking up some of the terrible shots like he did tonight. He's 2nd behind Clyburn in FG attempted so far, he needs to be no higher than 4th IMO. If you create off the dribble drive you will get your shots because we have the perimeter players to keep offenses honest.

What's everybody doing for game updates tomorrow? I know its not on tv, so what's everyone's favorite way of keeping up with the game? (Other than this of course )

    Way too many BAD Jumpshots

The good news is we played lackluster basketball and were down by 4pts with a couple minutes left.

Corie Lucious needs to be much better. He is way too reckless with his dribble- at least 6 turnovers. He took some VERY VERY VERY bad shots. Shooting contested 3 point shots with 30+ seconds left on the shot clock are not good decisions. Gotlieb pointed out a good defensive play, but his defense is like his offense eratic. This team needs a JC Holloway type PG, not a poor mans Allen Iverson.

Clyburn had a bad game, but the effort was OK- I'll chalk his game up to rust. Babb also had a bad game. Didn't make shots and seemed slow on defense. It might be rust, but IMO Tyrus should start.

Niang might have had a touch of nerves because he was 0 for 4/5 from the line.

As a team, same problem as last year, when we aren't hitting shots our defense suffers.

This team has tons of talent the question is will they be unselfish, play solid defense and make the hustle plays.

The B12 looks horrible which looks very appealing after the grueling football schedule we just went through

Re: After the first real opponent, what do you think?

If we're making comparisons to last year, we can chalk this loss to a ranked opponent as last years "Michigan" and it's hard for me to be upset about it (knowing how much they grew from the early season to the end last year). If we get a win tomorrow, it means that the guys know how to learn and respond. On twitter they seemed pretty positive about what to take out of tonight's game. A win tomorrow would be huge, a loss would sting but certainly wouldn't be a season ender by any means.

It means you had just an okay season. You make the NCAA Tournament and win your first game, but lose the second. Making The Tourney is good, but losing the first weekend really sucks. Not making it out of the round of 32 isn't that impressive.
