Barnett and jantz had worse stat lines than that. Sunshine played fine. No worries going forward. Now, we cant have a repeat of last years' bowl debaucle.(sp?)

Yeah that is good. Especially when you figure in that he didn't play in the 4th quarter vs KU or the first half of the 1st quarter. He technically still doesn't have two full games of experience under his belt. Can't wait for the next 3/4 weeks to play out!

    Re: Sam Richardson, Act II

I can confidently say that Sam Richardson gave us a better chance at winning today than Jantz or Barnett would have. Why? Because both Jantz and Barnett have been given numerous chances to prove themselves before, and Sam is better.

I don't know if Sam is better than Rohach yet though, because I haven't seen Rohach play.

Well that defense was far from legitimate. It was one of the worst in all of college football... He played okay but completed no where near the 70% other QB's average against WVU.

100000x better than the others. He makes me at least hopeful we can win games.

Seriously not trying to be a d!ck but why do so many people think Rohach is amazing when he's redshirting? my thought if he was THAT good then he'd be playing. 18 year old freshman or not.

We have now gone 2 straight games without a TO by the QB. That hasn't happened in FOREVER.

I'm all in on Sam right now.

He's passing on making a judgment right now. All he's saying is that he hopes Rohach is amazing. That gives us a quality battle at QB next year. That's much better than limiting the damage, like we've tried to do going into the last two seasons.

Since we are an elite team now, let's go get that One Cyclone Moment.
Make this one for the ages!

Sam played fine. Not bad, not great. Did enough for us to win from the QB position.

Our receivers are horrid. No separation. No consistency. Young yet again was completely absent. Had a great game a few weeks back and then nothing. West too. I just don't get how that entire unit can let the program down for such a long period of time.

He definitely steps up the best in the pocket. We need better qb play and he knows how to buy time. He can throw on the run also. Looking good to me.

I'm tired as **** of everyone on this board calling everyone an idiot for questioning what happened after a loss. This was a winnable game and we let them run all over us without changing anything up to stop it. I'm not calling for anyone's head, just voicing my frustration. A frustration that built over the entire game as they ran all over us. It would be nice if there was a better reason than, "We were afraid of Geno Smith" if that really was our Defensive mentality going into this game, then they should have told the fans, so we didn't have to watch.
It was a team that averaged 41 points a game, so I'd say our defense did decent. Obviously the push by the d-line wasn't great nor was the pressure, that is most likely just a difference in the quality of athletes recruited. The tackling was awful at times, I'm sure Rhoads will address that in the off season. And I don't think our defensive mentality heading into the game was "We were afraid." I think you underestimate the want the coaches and players have to win and the effort that they put forth to get that win each week. If they were truly scared, they definitely hid how scared they were last year when they played the Heisman favorite Brandon Weeden and receiver Justin Blackmon.

    Yeah.

Good decision making and overall he was a much better runner than JB/Steele who are both probably faster due to his smarts.

The TD on the go route was a great play however and he showed he is a good leader/game manager.

Small sample size though next year we will see if he can hit out routes to undersized receivers when there is decent coverage and the window is small and if he doesn't misplace screens/short passes since this teams receivers will drop anything short thats not on the money (they all will make difficult catches downfield but none of these receivers ever seem to adjust on poorly thrown short passes.)

    This.

I thought he played a pretty good game. My only criticism is he seemed to give up on his pass protection a little early a couple of times in the second half. WVU had made some adjustments and was not going to give up those scramble yards, so he should have stayed home and looked for a pass. But, freshman...

But lord, this receiving corps is poor. Lenz is solid, but he should be like the third receiver, not our best threat. I cannot believe the others cannot even hang onto a ball to help our QB out. Where was EB?

It sucks that I like watching almost everyone elses offense except ours. No motion, little misdirection, a lot of dog crap most plays.

LOL, doesn't SBR and his 7 TD passes exceed VandeBerg's entire season?? talk about a stiff.

The seems to have a better feel for the game whan the other QBs. While he wasnt great and did have some mistakes he made some passes the other QBs cannot.
