No Texas or Oklahoma the same as No Michigan or Ohio St.

What Kansas has done is special, i think everyone will agree. The funniest part is just because you don't have Texas or Oklahoma on your schedule don't mean your going to the championship....or even a bowl!!!!

Its the same in the Big Ten/Eleven....Just because you don't have Michigan or Ohio State on your schedule and everyone thinks you will contend, the end result could still be having to win your last game of the year against a second tier team to go to a bowl game. And as we've found out, sometimes the ol'mighty dollar will get you a better bowl game simply because that bowl wants to have a sellout and your team travels well.....

I will be watching the Hawk Game this week...
    Breakdown of EIU season....

Wins against Nobodies: N Illinois, Syracuse, Minnesota

Wins against above .500 teams: Illinois, Mich. St, Northwestern

Losses: ISU, Wisconsin, Indiana, Penn St, Purdue

Which group will W Michigan fall into....

I hope its losses, so all the Fire KF talk can start again its funny how fair weather Hawk fans are.....

My perfect weekend, ISU stuns the world, BRONCOS end the hawks dreams of another month of practice for this young team of criminals, and the Boyz put the smack down on the skins.....PRICELESS!!!!!!!!!!

Except Normally Nebraska is a great team. Texas A@M is usually a top 10 team when they are not messing with coach. Oky State is now getting so much money they can compete with the big boys so it's a little different.

Nebraska hasn't been a "great" for almost 10 years now. To say that Texas A&M is usually a top 10 team isn't accurate either. With their resources, recruiting and reputation they should be, but they are a perennial tease and underachiever. And despite Boone Pickens' delusions of grandeur the Cowboys will never be more than second fiddle in that state. They couldn't even fill that stadium before the expansion.

What does Okie St. playing 2nd fiddle to the Sooners have to do with them being good in the future? I see the Ok St.-OU situation similiar to the ISU-Iowa rivalry. OU & Iowa both rip on the "state" schools for being ag-based and the media in each state is in love with Iowa/OU. Go Cowboys.

Unfortunately, Iowa should win with ease.

I don't know if Iowa will win with ease. They(Western Michigan) played Indiana well, beat Toledo by 14 and beat Northern Ill. Iowa has shown improvement this year as of late with the young guys getting some time under their belts but going against common opps. it could be a closer game than most Hawk fans will want. I hate using common opps. but it does usually give a clue on the outcome. Having said that W. Mich has been struggling the last few games. Who knows but I wouldn't be shocked if the Hawks lose.

    Iowa didn't play Toledo.

It is just my random way of justifying my thought process of them being able to beat Iowa tomm. Like I said it could be more of a game than most Hawk fans want to see after the great improvement.

I was just pointing out you said they beat Toledo by 14. I have no idea where came from.

Western Michigan beat Toledo by 14. I read the above post again and edited it since it was a little unclear. (even to me the second time around.)

Ahhh, gotcha. Your first sentence made it seem like you were talking about Iowa instead of W Mich. Carry on.

No, I'm sorry for the confusion. Plus this back and forth has gotten me a few more credits to bet on the Clones against KU.

It's much easier to point out that W. Michigan spanked Iowa like they were a borrowed pony.

    Puhhhhhhthetic.

According to the Big Ten Network this morning, all teams that have won 6 games and are therefore technically bowl eligible are allowed to practice until the official bowl pairings are announced in two weeks. So the Hawks will get 2 weeks to work on their football, alibi's, and excuses.
