Do they still have that gentleman who likes punching people in the face on their team? I know he served his lengthy 1 or 2 week suspension for breaking that guys face open last year, but did he graduate? Yeah, I don't have much respect for their program and would love to destroy them.

    Re: Cincinnati

Cincinatti would be a very very good (top 10) team if there was someone on the roster to replace Yancy Gates.

Since they don't have a big man to replace him they are a team that is about the same level as ISU and personal-wise are extremely similar. Wright and Kilpatrick are good players but they won't run ISU off the court. It'll be a good game.

If anyone wants a heads up on a Big East team to bet against there is easy money to be made fading Providence (a team I like.) Vince Council is out for 5 weeks. Their rotation with him was only 7 deep so they are down to a 6 man rotation with no PG. Niether of their 2 stud recruits can play one Kris Dunn tore his ACL in the spring and Ricky Ledo who is a top 5 national recruit wasn't declared eligible (if it was Kentucky he'd have been cleared to play.) One of their big minute guards transfered to Gonzaga since he thought he was being recruited over. Umass tomorrow -9 should be a lock.

    Yancy is gone.

He did pick a good guy to clock in Kenny Frease IMO.

Yeah, that Xavier team did have a lot of scumbags too. I just remember the Cinci coach going on and on after the game about what a disgrace it was and they would have serious discussions about who is still on the team..then "What's that? The most violent offender out there was our best player? Hmm..lets suspend him for the rest of our soft non-conference schedule and bring him back for Big East play in a few weeks." That was a joke.

We want Providence to fail and continue to fail. We run up against them on the recruiting trail.

    Re: Cincinnati

Whoever pointed out the mich game last year is correct. That was our first loss against a top 25 team. Yes we lost but I think it was that game where I saw flashes of what our team was capable of if they put it all together. I think it also clicked a bit with the team that night of what they could do.

Excited to see them go up against cincy and get a true measure of where we are as a team.

As poorly as we played in that game we still could have won the game if we'd hit even a half way decent percentage from 3. We had a TON of wide open looks that weren't falling.

I think if we can slow down Scott Kilpatrick we have a shot at beating Cincinnati. First road/ nuetral game for both teams. I think historically Coach Hoiberg's team has pretty good playing away from home...

It's good to have a tough non-conference test like this. I'm interested to see how we respond to the ramped up competition.

I agree. Excellent prep for our national championship game on Dec. 7th.

    Re: Cincinnati

With the Cyclone.tv problems last night, I got to watch the last part of the Cincy game with Campbell.

Their guards are really athletic and good. Their bigs are all right, but they don't add much to the offense. If ISU's guards can control their guards' scoring, ISU has a chance. Their guards do play pretty good defense though....pesky types.

I think Booker, Gibson, Melvin, Niang and Clyburn can do really well inside against their bigs. That may be where ISU's scoring has to come from.

ISU can win this, but it all depends on which team's guards are doing the best defensively, imo.

I think Cinnci will give us our first insight into how good this team really is. UNLV would also give us a great idea on how we compare against tourney quality opponents.

If Iowa State happened to beat both those teams, I'll be curious to see which is more dramatic: UC & UNLV dropping in the rankings, or ISU climbing.
