Looking at the 2013 ISU football starting lineup

I wanted to get a feel for the 2013 Cyclone football team, so, using the current depth chart (plus a couple of personal tweaks) I put together the following list. Thought a few others here might wish to take a look. Got corrections? I'd like to have 'em.

    OFFENSE
Losses (5 starters - OT, OT, WR, WR, QB)
Returning Strength (C, OG, OG, RB)
Thin on Experience (TE, OT, QB, backup C, WR so-so)

    DEFENSE
Losses (7 starters - DE, DL, DL, LB, LB, CB, SS)
    Returning Strength (DE, DB)
    Thin on Experience (DL, LB)

    PARTICULARLY WORRISOME
QB - The starter likely (?) will be virtually without game experience (Sam Richardson has fewer than a dozen snaps, correct? Grant Rohach is a redshirt freshman.) There seems to be a fan consensus that Jared Barnett does not have the inherent athletic ability necessary to play QB in the Big 12.

DL - This season we've rotated eight or more players along the four upfront positions. Not only does just one starter return next fall, the interior Dline is without experienced backups as well.

Re: Looking at the 2013 ISU football starting lineup

I'm sure this has been discussed, but could Maggit get a medical hardship year? Would be nice to have him back. I think at offensive line, we may see:

    T- Gannon/Dagel
    G- Tuftee
    C- Farniok
    G- Dika
    T- Lichtenberg

I think Dika has the ability to be a better player than Lichtenberg and Gannon who are both playing this year. Despite losing two tackles, I think the line may be improved next year with 4 experienced players and another mauler in Dika.

Re: Looking at the 2013 ISU football starting lineup

I know this has been argued over and over again, but I'll be shocked if Barnett is next year's starter at QB. Richardson has to be the favorite to take the field for the first play against UNI on August 31st, with Rohach having a chance as well.

driegner is also not forcing you to do anything, unless you took the ":)" as a threat to your freedom.

I hope Dika can stay healthy, he seems to be injured a lot. Miller will start next season. Add in Coe at the defensive line and I see Williams having a legit shot at LT.

Your lack of comprehension is amazing. No one implied he was forcing anyhting, nor did I force him to do anything, unless you took the "?" as a "."

Glad we got that squared away. Now on to whether driegner was joking about the season ending in 3 weeks rather than 2 months after the bowl game....try to keep up.

To be clear, I think we'll go to a bowl. But that loooong gap of no games between the season and the bowl (which coincides with break, no less) usually means my CF usage spikes tremendously. That's when I like these in-depth types of posts.
