WVU 21 TCU 14 at the Half.

I don't do signatures. Blondes, brunettes, and red heads are a different story.

He did get his hand up for the tip that caused the second pick. Losing JK20 is a big deal, but I'm feeling a bit better with what George has shown us today.

Re: ***Post Game thread vs. Oklahoma***

ISU just has to sustain drives, and get a little better with a pass rush/pass defense. If those first drives had ended in touchdowns instead of field goals, obviously it would have been a much different game. Plus, the defense went soft on the touchdown just before half time. OU only had a little over a minute, and they went like 75 yards in 4 plays. Not good. ISU just can't afford to let up when playing a team like OU.

Texas is beatable. Not easily, but they are certainly as beatable as TCU was on the road. Kansas of course is beatable, although they gave Texas all they wanted at Kansas, and are giving Baylor all they want at Baylor today. I would almost be concerned more about beating Kansas than Texas. West Virginia will be tough to beat.

ISU has a decent defense, for the Big 12, but you can't give up almost 600 yards, and allow 9 of 14 3rd down conversions against Oklahoma and really expect to give yourself a chance to win.

-Be kind. That is something you will never regret. You will never say to yourself when you are old "I wish I was not good to that person".

I didn't get to see or hear the game but was Jantz really "good" as those here are saying? Statistically he looks pretty bad, very much like the Barnett in KSU game. 20/40 is pretty low, even with drops, and 11 rushes for 21 yards is pretty abysmal.

There were a fair number of drops. Turn those into completions, and it's a different game. The big thing is that Steele didn't make many key turnovers. Yeah, he had the pick, but that was at the end of the game and you have to take some risks. I thought he played better than he has in the past. We need our receivers to make the catches to help move the chains.

He threw the ball away a lot on 3rd and long situations after drops on 1st & 2nd down

He had a big negative run/sack on the last play of the half. And as others have said, there were definitely quite a few drops.

Agree....our receivers are not playmakers when they get the ball in their hands. It's just the reality of the situation. But they can at least do their part by catching everything that hits them in the hands/chest. Those drops are just killer, especially the one by Lenz that went right through his hands while we were backed up against our own end zone.

It's been a long time since I've seen an opponent have receivers that make that many catches while our defenders are right there. Along the sideline, in the end zone, in the middle of the field....didn't matter. Our defenders were right on them and they continued making catches that look impossible to us as ISU fans because we haven't had a receiver who could do the same in a long, long time. We need a couple of talented receivers, badly.

Re: ***Post Game thread vs. Oklahoma***

Thought we gave a good effort. You could tell we missed Jake out there, but George did a fantastic job, watson getting hurt did not help either. Steele did just fine wish our receivers could catch the damn ball as they were good thrown balls. OU is just a better football team, but we are really not to terribly far behind them.

Defense needed to get a better pass rush and did not so that hurt us as Jones had all day to throw. I also thought on offense we needed to establish the run and pass more in the middle and neither really happened. If we shore up some things on both sides of the ball and take the positives from this game winning out is not impossible, but tough.

Agree we need more talent/depth at the wide receiver position with speed and toughness, but we have freshmen receivers who I hope can do that yet and definitely next season.

We are a few key plays from being top half of Big 12. Some sticky on WR hands and we'd be fine.

I thought Jeremiah played very well.

The fumble call, was that the one with the false start called instead? Isn't that the correct call since it's a dead ball penalty?

When those mistakes happen we need the offense to capitalize (and have the correct call on a fumble), we did not.
The problem with this defense is that the field position battle is being lost. ISU had OU pinned deep at least twice and let OU out with loose coverage/conservative play on third downs. It just wastes the great efforts by Vander Kamp.
