Random question re: gameday suits and ties

The guys look good rolling up to JTS in their suits and ties. Is ISU allowed to buy those suits for them? I'd think a really nice suit would be outside of the standard budget for a lot of college kids. Just curious...

I wondered the same thing at the bowl game spirit walk last year. I don't know.

I can't imagine the rules allow the school to buy the players a nice suit, but I don't know for sure

When I was in school, the athletes received a stipend to pay for "traveling" clothes. I had a roommate who was a walk-on 4th stringer on the wrestling team, and he got $200 to buy a suit, and he didn't even travel with the team.

Do you really want to ask questions when the honest answers could cause your favorite team to have problems with the NCAA? This and similar questions are best left unasked and unanswered.

Time to add this post to the "stupidest things you've ever heard" thread.

If the team wanted to buy some hush-hush stuff for the players, do you think they would be wearing them on Gameday? SMH

Re: Random question re: gameday suits and ties

My guess, is that one suit or something of that nature could easily be called part of the uniform. Do they have to buy all of their shorts and shirts they use while lifting and other outside of practice work outs? I really don't know, but since most schools have their kids wear suits, it could easily be part of the uniform package. In all seriousness, if a suit to wear on game day is over the top, then someone needs to tell Oregon they have to pick one uniform and stick with it, because it's not fair to the rest of the country who usually only gets one home and one away.

I hope you forgot the pirate because this is honestly the stupidest ******* response I could have imagined. A comment on a fan site about how good the guys look and how much the school is allowed to contribute toward it getting your team in trouble with the NCAA, are you ******* kidding me? Dumbest ******* post ever.

Good thread. Unfortunately it happened during a game rather than midweek. Probably would've been 4 star reading material.
