I think ISU should offer Starcevich at Southeast Polk

I thought before he had an injury he had a D1 arm, and after seeing him after the injury I think he has a D1 arm. Mobile QB's are nice but the first thing a QB needs to be able to do is throw the ball. He probably throws a better ball than both Jantz & Barnett.

I was impressed he ran a 2 minute drill and in less than a minute and a half he took SEP 70 yards for a TD.

I don't care if ISU thinks they have enough QB's, as we can see this year you can't have enough QB's. This team probably competes for around 3rd in the league maybe higher if ISU had a upper division QB.

    QBs better than Starcevich:
    1.) Sam Richardson
    2.) Grant Rohach
    3.) Joel Lanning
    4.) Josh Lenz
    5.) Jerome Tiller
    6.) Mark Sanchez
    7.) Alex Moran

This list goes on an on (I'm Ankeny grad, go Hawks!) I hate SEP.

Doesn't Xavier in Cedar Rapids have a really good QB?

Schulte from Xavier is a good QB. He is a very smart player and throws accurately.

Are the Clones going to give Lanning a shot at QB? I thought maybe he was going to another position. I will say this I was impressed on the progress of his deep throw from his soph. to Jr. year, I have not seen him this year. Lanning is a good get, but I think the Clones should get a pass first QB also in this class because if Lanning doesn't win the QB spot he will play another position and they are not wasting a scholly.

I'm not saying Starcevich will have the potential long term Kyle Orton did, but I saw them both play several games from their soph. seasons on and I have felt Starcevich was the better QB from the start. He has a lot of poise something I noticed from his soph. year he doesn't throw into coverage, and very accurate passer with a good arm.

I think if someone offers him late on the D1 level they might have got a steal. I know there was a fair amount of interest before the ACL tear from D1 schools and he should have done nothing this year to disappoint. This year his weapons on offense are average, without him and an average QB their offense would struggle to get 21 pts a game.

Starecevich is a good HS Qb, but I don't think he is a fit for ISU's offense. The QB must be a very good runner. Starecevich is a better fit at Iowa.

Its more important to have a QB that can throw than run the ball. If you have the defense spread all over the field and a QB that can complete passes all over thats a bigger weapon.

Starcevich wouldn't be a run first but he isn't a bad athlete. SEP had a corner that couldn't stop the deep ball and so SEP put him back at deep safety to guard against the deep ball.

Ertz was on the ISU sidelines for most of the home games last yr, I think they fumbled one there....
