    Texas is hunting for a coach

    I was out of state on a trip and a nice guy from Texas and I starting talking Big 12 football. We were having a great conversation and he pops in and says;
    'that Paul Rhoads is a hell of a coach, think he'll leave Iowa State? Mack is done.'

    Immediately I jump in 'we put a huge buyout on that contract, just stay away.'.....

    He said, 'don't worry, we'll sell some oil and bowl in that South End Zone for you,'

    ......dammit.......1) they a loooooaaaaded. 2) interesting trade....

    He won't leave for a Big 12 school.

    I honestly think as long as Cecil is around (not to sound too cynical) so is Paul.

    Texas could never sell that hire to their fan base.

    If it was last year, I would have guessed Art Briles would be the next coach at Texas.

    It sounds like Mean Eugene will be looking for a job.

    If, and that is a big if, Mack is done after this year, don't you think their first 5 choices will be Will Muschamp?

    As a LSU fan I pray they take Saban from 'Bama. As an ISU fan not so much...

    Dang I am conflicted on that one.

    Why would he leave Bama for Texas?

    He already has a statue of himself at Bama.

    Re: Texas is hunting for a coach

    Aaaaarrrrgghhh! One of the guys that works for me is a UT grad and was JUST in my office talking about this same thing! I said, "Rhoads won't leave ISU". He said, "Do you understand how much money the UT job is worth? Rhoads would go in a heart beat, and we want him. Can you imagine what he'd do with UT-type talent?" To which I said, "**** you! Get out of my office!"

    Remember, you're unique. Just like everyone else.

    Until further notice, the Big 12 tournament is best. There's an experience here. Not just the teams -- the feel, the vibe, the establishments. Iowa State not only won the pregame -- filling the nearby Power & Light District -- it won the whole damn scene.
