"Cyclones vs Volunteers" and "Hawks vs Golden Flashes"

Another couple of interesting predictions... with Iowa State against an SEC opponent and Iowa up against someone from the MAC (Kent State now 7-1). Phil Steele

    I still don't see us in a non-Big12 slot.

I agree, tho I wouldn't mind heading to Nashville.

“They're very, very hard to guard,” Notre Dame head coach Mike Brey said. “They're really good. And with Niang in the middle kind of wheeling and all those guys spreading you out, they're kind of a nightmare matchup. And they're men. They're really men.”

I don't think we'll be seeing Iowa bowl eligible, but it would be really funny to see them in the little caesars bowl in detroit.

He has TCU going 2-7 in conference (5-7 overall) but not only going bowling, going to a bowl ahead of us.

TCU will NEVER go to a bowl ahead of us with a similar record. Like ever.

We would honestly probably bring more fans to a bowl game in Dallas, and we'd coming from out of town and therefore spending a lot more $.

Agreed, what an underrated city. Beating Tennessee and Curt Maggitt would pretty sweet, too!

The Indy Bowl against Bama was fun. SEC fans are generally good folk to party with, and were very respectful.

But playing UT in their backyard would have little attraction to me.

And unless Baylor pulls off two upsets, the Big 12 isn't going to have an extra team. Plus, if the Big 12 does have an extra team, it ain't going to be ISU left out to fight for an at-large invite. Baylor would be fortunate to get to 6-6 and would be the likely at large team.

Bottom line, Phil Steele is a fool for predicting this to occur.

The only reason that Baylor might get picked over ISU for a bowl would be if it was a bowl in Texas and they wanted some home crowd fans to pair with a good traveling fanbase.

Phil Steele is a fool for not realizing that the Heart of Dallas Bowl is B12 vs B1G, not B1G vs CUSA. That's why he has ISU in a non-B12 bowl.

Well, there you go. At least there was some logic behind his prediction. But logic built on ignorance.
