    Oklahoma is now "that" team

For me anyway, I've always had a deep rooted hatred of Nebraska football. I'm not the sort that hates the Hawks, in fact I could care less about them. I would have much rather beaten Nebraska every year. Now that they are gone, I think Oklahoma needs to be promoted to our most hated conference foe.

We haven't beaten them in so long, they are rubbing it in our faces at every turn. I checked the other threads with links to their boards and there is a complete lack of respect for us. I can understand it, but it makes me despise them even more.

I hope we kick the **** out of em.

Oklahoma is that team that we've struggled to beat, so they are the one team that I'd like to see us beat over anyone else (although beating Iowa might be a tie in enjoyment). It feels like half the time we've been beat by the name on the jersey, as we self destructed. I don't see that happening with CPR at the helm. I think we'll give them a great game.

I'm for beating Oklahoma if for no other reason than I can't stand the frequency that the band plays Boomer Sooner. Learn another tune or two -- please!

I can't get enough of the siren at Trice however.

I'm hoping that in the near future other teams and their fans get really sick of hearing that Siren over and over again.

The Siren is the best thing that came with the new scoreboard. I really think we need to start capitalizing the S when we speak of the Siren

Remember their jackwagon of a coach is a Sooner/Hawk combo. Not much to like there.

Re: Oklahoma is now "that" team

I'd love to beat OU, but I have no hate for them. Growing up in Husker country in the 80s and 90's, I always cheered for OU, if only to spite Husker fans. Nebraska will always be numero uno on my dislike list. Besides, we average about 7 points a game against OU over the last decade or so.....how does that earn any respect? We need to earn their respect the same way we did Iowa, Nebraska, Okie St, Texas and TCU's respect over the last few years.

This Siren really fits in with a Cyclone theme, doesn't it:

I think there are more OU fans here in Dallas than UT fans.

Re: Oklahoma is now "that" team

I haven't lived in Iowa for 20 years, so I could care less about them (I'm sure I would loathe them if I lived there--or if Hayden was still the coach). I hate Nebraska more than ever, but who cares...we won't play them anymore. KSU is a rival that I love to beat, but I actually REALLY like them. So I'd have to agree that Oklahoma and Texas are the teams that I'd most prefer to knock off every year. But unlike in the past (Nebraska*), we don't have any teams on our schedule that I dislike. The way their players and fans were when we played them, TCU may eventually fill that void.

*Edit: I dislike A&M as well, even though I have a degree from there.

Let's hope that their Odyssey to Ames ends with them being eaten by our defense. For me, I base my dislike of opposition on the level of obnoxiousness of their fans. In this case, Oklahoma is tied with NU. Followed by Mizzou and Iowa. We are asserting our dominance over Iowa now though, so they'll be OK in a few years.

Re: Oklahoma is now "that" team

I don't really "hate" any teams in our conference and usually find myself pulling for all of them in non-con action. I suppose UT is at the bottom of my list, but I don't really hate them. I was certainly rooting for OU against ND Saturday night.
