    Hammerschmidt?

Seems like I heard Kurt Hammerschmidt's name being called at least once per game last year. This year, not really at all. Why?

    Re: Hammerschmidt?

I've been wondering that as well. Looks like he's listed 3rd on the depth chart. http://www.cyclones.com//pdf8/965188...B_OEM_ID=10700

    Re: Hammerschmidt?

We are a one tight end team. As Tim Redd once said,

    Ernst Brun.

The one constant through all the years, Ray, has been baseball. America has rolled by like an army of steamrollers. It has been erased like a blackboard, rebuilt and erased again. But baseball has marked the time. This field, this game: it's a part of our past, Ray. It reminds of us of all that once was good and it could be again. Oh... people will come Ray. People will most definitely come.

    Re: Hammerschmidt?

Ernst Brun. I personally expected to not hear Hammerschmidt's name a lot, I was hoping to hear Howard's more though, he started the year first on the depth chart.

    Re: Hammerschmidt?

Walters talked about Hammerschmidt getting some nice blocks Saturday--just as Brun came back in.

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.

    Re: Hammerschmidt?

I'm happy the coaches redshirted Brun last year and we have another whole year with him.

    Re: Hammerschmidt?

Didn't Steele's 1st INT against Tulsa bounce off of Hammer's hands?

Yes, and no offence to Kurt as he is a good blocking tight end, he should never be apart of the passing game. He is slow and cannot catch.

    Re: Hammerschmidt?

Remember how Horne dropped everything thrown at him Saturday? Just superimpose those thoughts on imagining our TEs trying to catch a ball last season.

    Re: Hammerschmidt?

hammerschmidt is a good blocker but has hands of stone. Not sure about the Tulsa game, but I am sure the at least 2 of the INTs that SJ threw were passes that KH stoned away.

    Brun already IS a stud.

In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.
