ISU 51st in Scout.com's Recruiting rankings

    LINK

Not too shabby considering the season we've had. If GC & co. keep it up, I wouldn't be surprised to see us climb even higher...

    (Notice where Iowa is?)

[Edit: Helps if I choose the right link button!]

I know it's Notre Dame, but with their season, how do they have the #1 class so far? Unreal

Unfortunately, we're #9 in the Big XII. If things keep moving in the right direction for this program, I would expect that will improve too.

but at the same time we are ahead of Kansas

Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative.

ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other."

Re: ISU 51st in Scout.com's Recruiting rankings

With the kind of season that Kansas is having, why are they so low on the recruiting rankings? I would think with a perfect record, even ISU would have quite a few four star recruits by now.

I'll admit to not following recruiting all that closely before I joined this site because I don't think the recruiting gurus always know what they're talking about, but I really like reading what you guys have to say about our prospects. Especially the real inside stuff from 33.
But, what I want to know is, how have the classes by Kansas and Missouri been ranked in the big 12 for the last four years. (or five since they might be playing redshirt seniors). In particular, does anyone know what the ratings were for Chase Daniel and Todd Reesing? Or even Alexander Robinson for us?? He seems to be very good but was he highly recruited with offers from some of the heavyweights.
I'm just curious what percentage of 4 and 5 star players pan out.

Re: ISU 51st in Scout.com's Recruiting rankings

I know alot of people are probably thinking that being 51st isn't a big deal but here is why it is. When you are recruiting an athlete for D-1 football, you typically begin targeting the player within the first 4 weeks of their junior season if they are what you would consider to be good enough. Our boy Gene did not have this luxury this past year because he was hired well after this time frame. Second, he and his staff have not had a bye week this year which is THE major opportunity for a head coach to sit in a recruit's living room.
