    BCS Standings 10/28

Here they are: NCAA College Football BCS Standings Week 10 - ESPN

    Here's the Big 12:

    #2 Kansas State
    #12 Oklahoma
    #18 Texas Tech
    #21 West Virginia
    #23 Texas
    #24 Oklahoma State

Unranked: Baylor, Iowa State, Kansas, TCU.

K-State and Notre Dame are tied for 1st in the computer rankings. According to the computer rankings, five of the six Big 12 teams in the rankings are underrated by the voters (at least in part), with the exception of Oklahoma State (who the computer rankings alone have at #25).

WVU and Texas? Really? I mean, I understand that WVU has only lost to highly ranked teams, but they got obliterated by TTech and KSU worse than we did. Texas got destroyed by OU in a rivalry game, and needed everything they had to beat WVU, Baylor and KU. That's not to say I think we should be ranked because I don't think we're there yet. Oh well, I guess it just give us more opportunity to beat ranked teams and climb back into the rankings by the end of the year.

Just think - if we win, and K-State beats OSU this weekend, the only ranked game in the whole conference next weekend will be on the Longhorn Network.

Interesting how overrated Clemson and Florida state are.

I'll be shocked if Texas beats TTech.

    Re: BCS Standings 10/28

    To besserheimerphat's Question:

It's all based on prior results and eye test/rivals ranking that say "they must be good becuase they have been in the past and recruiting is the same."

Also, it's easier to defend a "Why did you pick them" question by answering, "traditional winner." If you pick a non-traditional winner, like a 7-1 Kent State or 8-1 Northern Illinios for example you get "weak schedule. You fail."

If you choose Miss St., you get a similar variation: They really haven't played anyone yet.

So you stick with the powers that be long after they've become powers that were. Leads to fewer arguments.

It would seem unlikely, but Big 12 has just enough competitive strangeness this season, it wouldn't shock me.
