I'm supposed to fly from BWI to MCO this Friday night, and then back on Sunday evening.

Scale of 1-10, how screwed am I, and should I just not do this ere I'm stuck in Florida until Thursday? :/

You should probably plan your funeral before you leave for your trip.

I think you'll squeak by. You could have a delay, depending on where the outer bands are, on the way back but the storm is still pretty far away at that point.

I'm flying to Philadelphia monday afternoon. It looks like I'll get in before the storm, and then have to deal with its mess trying to leave on Thurs.... yippee.

Depends who you believe, the Euro and CMC say Monday could be dicey for you.

Does this line seem a little, um, strange to anyone else?
Meteorologists say it is likely to cause $1 billion in damage.
Since when are Meteorologists experts in damage assessments, much less predictive damage assessments several days out.

Since they started giving storms sensational names?

Its could conceivably be people working in the same department with the meteorologists, or meteorologists who have a particular focus on damaging events like this. If nothing else you can use past storms to judge how much potential damage there could be.

Well when you look at past storms in major cities it really isn't that big of a stretch: October Snowstorm Adds to 2011's Billion Dollar Weather Disasters | Climate Central

I agree that the meteorologist should stick with things that they are suppose to predict. I don't know what $1 billions dollars in damage looks like but I can visualize what a foot of snow could probably do.
