    A couple of questions

I'm going to be in town for the game and had a couple of quick questions. I'm trying to decide on a hotel and I thought it might be nice to stay within walking distance of Jack Trice if possible. There were a couple around a mile away (Grandstay, Best Western, Days Inn). Are they walkable and are there paths to walk from a hotel or should I expect to drive regardless of where I stay?

Also, random question about tailgating. I visited back in 2009 and had a blast roaming around the tailgates. In particular there were 3-4 Canadian guys that said they drove in from Winnepeg quite a bit for games and setup in / next to the student lot. It's a stretch, but if anyone knows who I'm referring to let me know as it would be awesome if I could meet up with them at some point again (assuming they still come to games).

Thanks in advance to any help and I'm looking forward to the game!

    Re: A couple of questions

Considering theres about 55-65k people tailgating between students and fans, finding 3-4 guys might be tough! However, just wonder around and find a new group everyone will be more then welcoming. Have a fun trip

I think that was the Mckenzy brothers, Bob and Doug, I think. Take off, eh?

    Re: A couple of questions

Have you reserved a room at any of them? Hotels in Ames fill up pretty fast on games days. Since it is homecoming I wouldn't be surprised you are out of luck on trying to get a hotel in Ames. Regardless I would probably drive since there is quite a bit of parking and with the weather suppose to be cold it might be better than walking a mile.

    Re: A couple of questions

I was thinking the same thing regarding hotels, but all of them had openings when I checked tonight. And thanks for the info on walking vs. driving. Unless I get responses saying otherwise, I'll go ahead and just go with a decent place that is affordable.

Another quick question. Can I expect to be able to snag $20-$30 tickets scalping or do I need to prepare to pay $55 per for budgeting? Don't care on location so long as I can sit in an area that's not grass.

I know it wasn't the Mckenzy brothers and I know it wasn't Don Cherry. Outside of that, it's anyone's guess. They did fly a canadian flag and load me up on Labatt if that helps!

Those canadians taigate with us, but they won't be here for Baylor. They were down for K-state.

    Re: A couple of questions

I don't usually buy tickets so I don't know the market very well. I would think you should be able to get a hillside for $20-$30 but I would think you could an actual seat for under $50.

I don't know the guys you are talking about but feel free to wander the lots.
