    The Quest for .500 in Conference

    I firmly believe this team had extremely high expectations for itself coming out of fall camp. We know that Coach Rhoads expected more than 3 Big 12 wins for the fourth straight year.

    Through 7 games, our offense is what it is. We have 5 more games. Three games will be played inside Jack Trice in the cold of late October and November. One of the road games is also against the conference's worst team.

    We sit at 1-3 in conference. The quest for over .500 in conference is on life support. It would require finishing 4-1. So, in Rhoads' fourth year, in this conference and with this offense, I believe finishing with 4 Big 12 wins will be a step forward. Can this team make it happen?? 3-2 in our final 5 games.

    We are going win at KU and that is it.

    5-7

    and it all hangs on CPR for not having a QB and wasting a pretty good D.

    I firmly believe we will be in and have a chance to win each of the last five games. Need to get the rushing game going. I predict 3 and 2 for 7 and 5 season.

    No, we do not have a good OC, QB and O line coach. This offense has to be completely reconstructed and its to late now which should be corrected before the season starts or within the first two to three games into the season. This offense is in panic mode now since Rhoads said Richardson has a shot. I only see one more win and that is not even a gimme its against Kansas.

    If ISU doesnt get the offense figured out, they wont even beat KU. Next week will be telling. If they cant figure out how to have any production on offense against Baylor, they will struggle to win another game. The Baylor game could not come at a better time.

    Re: The Quest for .500 in Conference

    i think ...

    vs Baylor Win 34-31
    vs Oklahoma Lose 37-13
    @Texas Lose 31-20
    @Kansas Win 27-20
    vs West Virginia Win 30-27 OT

    Pinstripe bowl 6-6 if we lose to WVU
    Holiday bowl 7-5 if we defeat WVU
    assuming the rest happens

    Re: The Quest for .500 in Conference

    The weather is supposed to be in the 30s for the game on Saturday with some wind. That should play HUGELY in our advantage. I just don't see us losing this Saturday.

    I don't think we can score with OU - Loss

    Texas could go either way I think - 35% chance at a W

    KU will be ALOT tougher than any here think. We find a way to get it done - 55% chance at a W

    WVU at home will depend alot on how WVU does between now and then. I think they will be beaten up and have thrown in the towel for the season - 65% chance at a W.

    4-1 to finish is entirely possible. 3-2 should be likely IMO.

    Re: The Quest for .500 in Conference

    The 4 conference teams we have played have an overall conference record of 11-4.

    The 5 teams we have left have an overall conference record of 7-12 included 2 teams who have lost conf games by at least 40 points.

    Some of the people on this board seem to feel that after we have one bad game, that we will never play another good game again that season. That was true for some of our previous coaches, certainly not for Rhoads.

    I feel we can get to 6+ wins, based on Rhoads past history here.
