    Argo

Has anybody else seen this yet? My wife an I went tonight. I thought it was the best movie that I've seen in a long long time.

    Re: Argo

I saw it tonight as well. I thought it was really good. Being only 22, I didn't have much background information so most of it was a surprise.

Great movie! Very well done, keeps you wondering the whole movie even though you know the ultimate outcome.

Great movie. A part of history I never knew about even though I thought I followed the hostage crisis closely at the time, though I probably forgot some of it. I'm glad I stayed thru some of the credits to see the actual pictures of the rescued hostages and the history of why the whole story wasn't told until 20 years later. A few people left too soon.

    Re: Argo

I thought the movie was very good, my biggest complaint was of Affleck as the lead man. Just didn't really add anything to the movie. Felt the story and other actors carried the movie and not him.

    Re: Argo

The thing I took from the movie is that airport security in Tehran in 1980 has become the model for the USA thirty years later (minus the amount of automatic weapons).

Seriously, a good movie and this member of the movie-going public would like to see a lot more just like it.

Very good. Like someone said, it kept you guessing even if you knew the end. Went with my husband and a couple friends. They'd never even studied the hostage crisis in high school (high school in mid-2000s)

    Re: Argo

A lot of people know about the hostage situation, but few knew about the ones that escaped and were in hiding, at least I didn't know. Great movie. If you go, make sure you stay for the credits. The actual footage was one of my favorite parts.

Affleck's road from tabloid pretty boy to respected director/decent actor has to be one of the more unexpected career turnarounds in recent memory. I'm sad I'll probably end up waiting to see Argo on DVD because from everything I hear it would be right in my wheelhouse.
