    Iowa offers ISU recruit

I just read on Hawkeye report that Iowa has offered ISU commit Aaron Wimberly(sp) a scholarship. Just like Barkley Hill, it would indicate that calling someone little brother should no longer be said when you're trying to steal players from so called little brother. I know it goes on at all colleges but it shows Iowa State is the number 1 team in the state now.

It shows that this is Division 1 football. Nothing more.

You know how these things work. Other schools wait to make offers. Once they see Paul Rhoads offer, it makes other schools stand up and take notice. That's just the way things work in Division I football.

If he wants to go there he might as well take some pain killers and tear his ACL now to save some anguish.

Or they figured if he's good enough for Penn State, he's good enough for Iowa.

Last year they wanted us to join the MAC and now they want our players?

    Re: Iowa offers ISU recruit

Based on his quotes in the rivals article after he received his recent Penn State offer, I'd consider him a soft verbal at best to ISU.

    Re: Iowa offers ISU recruit

You mean we have a recruit who is actually wanted by another BCS school? That doesn't seem to fit with the wailing and gnashing of teeth by some on here about our terrible recruits.

Young man was an absolute stud playing HS football in Georgia. Went to what has become a power at Iowa Western and has only increased his stock. Hope we keep him.

    Re: Iowa offers ISU recruit

Why in the hell would you go to PSU? They cannot attend any bowls, championships nothing. This program is on the rise and with some more talent will compete for a Big Twelve Championship. We have a great head coach and administration who is making Iowa State stronger especially with facilities. Our fans have done an absolute fabulous job getting our butts inside of Jack Trice Stadium. This Kid would be a great get and hope we land him!!

I have a feeling theres going to be an exodus from the Penn state football team this year. Last year it was really too late to latch on with a team by the time the sanctions were handed down.

    Re: Iowa offers ISU recruit

Far as I'm concerned, Iowa can offer whoever they like. I mean, obviously they are desperate for RB's, so why not?

    Paul Rhoads' players never quit.
