    KU schedule so far.

I am glad that LSU is staying ahead of KU in the polls. LSU has a MUCH tougher schedule than KU. I mean honestly. If we were playing KU's schedule with the team we have now, we would be no worse than 8-2

Sat, Sep 1 Central MichiganW 52-7
Sat, Sep 8 Southeastern LouisianaW 62-0
    Sat, Sep 15 ToledoW 45-13
Sat, Sep 22 Florida InternationalW 55-3
    Sat, Oct 6at (24) Kansas StateW 30-24
    Sat, Oct 13 BaylorW 58-10
    Sat, Oct 20at ColoradoW 19-14
    Sat, Oct 27at Texas A&MW 19-11
    Sat, Nov 3 NebraskaW 76-39
Sat, Nov 10at Oklahoma StateW 43-28

    Re: KU schedule so far.

We are improved, no doubt, but let' s not get crazy. We lost to Kent St, Toledo, AND UNI. Heck, we lost to Nebraska who, before yesterday, has been TERRIBLE.

We would be 8-2 with their schedule?

Do people forget we lost to Kent State and UNI at home and very bad Toledo on the road? Just amazes me how quickly we forget how bad we were for the first half of the season.

Does KU have an easier schedule? Sure. They are still a very good team, they should be #1 if they win out.

    Re: KU schedule so far.

Sorry, unfair assessment as we didn't have this team to start the year, which is how we'd play that schedule - starting in August - not November.

    Re: KU schedule so far.

.... but they have taken care of business and if they run the table in the next 3 games they will have earned it, with 2 more quality wins against probable top 5 BCS teams.

    Re: KU schedule so far.

    Three things...

    1) Yes, KU has played a weak schedule...far weaker than LSU's.

    2) KU will not run the table and be undefeated going into a bowl game.

    3) I'm just glad that Ohio State lost so the fraudulent Big 10 conference is not in the National Championship discussion any longer. The Big 10 is absolutely pathetic this year...PATHETIC!!

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Nobody said I was trying to be fair. All I was doing is speculating about the talent on that schedule. Thats what message boards are for right? This post was not about "Assessing our team and how we would do with KU's schedule"

It was about showing how crappy their schedule was.

    Re: KU schedule so far.

Yeah.. Im not saying KU wont beat MU and OU. They just might do it and THEN will deserve this high rating.

Until then.... I guess I happen to fall under the train of thought "to be someone you have to beat someone"

Now they have some decent wins, but nothing that is National Championship quality.

They ARE lucky that Mizzou and OU have remained unbeaten outside of the game between the two. That really gives KU a shot.

That is a VERY good point. Something Iowa State has not been good at in the past. With a year under his belt, I'm hoping Chizik can do what Kansas does against inferior teams. Here's a look at next year for Iowa State

Sat, Aug 30 South Dakota State Ames, Iowa TBA

Sat, Sep 06 Kent State Ames, Iowa TBA

Sat, Sep 13 Iowa at Iowa City, Iowa TBA

Sat, Sep 20 UNLV at Las Vegas, Nev. TBA

Sat, Oct 04 Kansas * Ames, Iowa TBA

Sat, Oct 11 Baylor * at Waco, Texas TBA

Sat, Oct 18 Nebraska * Ames, Iowa TBA

Sat, Oct 25 Texas A&M * Ames, Iowa TBA

Sat, Nov 01 Oklahoma State * at Stillwater, Okla. TBA

Sat, Nov 08 Colorado * at Boulder, Colo. TBA

Sat, Nov 15 Missouri * Ames, Iowa TBA

Sat, Nov 22 Kansas State * at Manhattan, Kan. TBA

With that schedule next year, I'm guaranteeing 6 wins. That's without toss-up games, of which I am including Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, A&M, and Mizzou.

KU should still get a shot at the national championship if they beat us, Missouri and Oklahoma. Of course if they lose one, it's over.
