Thumbs up Here's to you, Mr. Robinson

    Stats yesterday...

    29 carries for 127 yards (4.4/carry) and 2 TDs.

Some very tough yards in there too, which really impressed me. Plenty of yards after contact and - you know - we're not used to that in Ames lately.

    In the last 3 games...

75 carries, 337 yards (4.5/carry) and 5 TDs. Tack on 12 catches for 111 yards.

Oh, the long pass from Arnaud to Hamilton vs K-State was made possible by a huge block from you.

I tip my hat to you and say - thanks for the huge spark these past 3 weeks. We're not worthy.

A-Rob has been playing great lately. I am excited that he is only a freshman!

Man, I was just thinking about posting about A-Rob.

It's gonna be fun watching him over the years. He runs with conviction, and doesn't shy away from contact at all. It seem he's hungry for every inch he gets and that's cool.

Plus, he won me over when he got to the end zone and just flipped the ball to the ref, like he had been there before.

Forgot to mention, the dude picks up the blitz like a veteran, and his blocking is great.

Finally nice to have a go to back again, what was the last one we had? Ennis?

Re: Here's to you, Mr. Robinson

I was defintiely convinced about him being our back when he made that touchdown run when he broke how many tackles before losing his helmet in the endzone. I think the best part of that was when he took on the guy at the two or three yard line and just pushed his way into the endzone.

Just think what another year of strength and conditioning will do for him. I really think he could be a great mix of power and speed. And we still have 3 more years with him. Amazing running yesterday.

It is my understanding Alexander Robinson was known as "Alexander the Great" when he played HS Football in the Twin-Cities. He played great on Saturday.

It's going to be fun watching him develop for three more years.

Re: Here's to you, Mr. Robinson

I don't know if anyone noticed this, but on our last possession (I think), Robinson got up after his first or second carry kind of holding his forearm or wrist, and Meyer looked at the sideline and pointed at Robinson, as if he was hurt and we needed JJ to come in. Robinson just waved him off. Have to love a guy who is tough and wants the ball.

Since I'm too lazy to look, do you know which Twin Cities' school he played at?

Just think, next year we'll have Scales, Bass, & Robinson all coming back. Each has shown some pretty good stuff & I'm excited for ISU to once again be a good running team!

I think it was Minneapolis North, but I could be wrong as I am going by memory and also too lazy to look it up.

He doesnt even need to gain weight to be a force.

As long as he stays fast, hes what we need.
