Gopher Coach Brewster excited about Iowa loss!

To show you the pathetic state of Minnesota football, Gopher CoachTim Brewster (who fraduently claimed he was offered the Iowa State job and turned it down) claimed the tight loss to Iowa is a huge milestone in his coaching tenure. He is really excited to lose a close game to the quality Hawkeyes and says this shows the progress the program is making. He apparently is having trouble holding recruits and appealing to the NCAA to move up the signing date for new recruits.

My interest is how this guy trashed Iowa State when he got hired at Minnesota. Guess I need to let it go, but it's sweet to hear him bloviate.

Brewster's excited when he successfully takes a dump. He is like an spastic puppy with ADHD.

At least he won the 2nd half.

Brewster tied his shoes this morning!!!! Let's all write the Minnesota AD and tell him to give Brewster a raise. I for one liked how after a loss, Chizik would say "we got better, but obviously it is not acceptable"

Re: Gopher Coach Brewster excited about Iowa loss!

I live in Minneapolis, am a '05 grad of ISU and a season ticket holder. (boy are the drives to Ames seeming longer and longer, heh)

Every time I hear Brewster talk on the local radio or news, I can't help but think of the hot air Danny Mac used to spin down in Ames. I think the guy is intelligent, driven and is dealing with his anemic team as best he can, but my God people, if you suck eggs just say that you suck eggs.

The only bright spot on the horizon for University of Minnesota football is their new stadium. Hopefully that will lure a couple top-notch recruits to their campus and get them out of the basement.

People in Minnesota are not too loyal to their college sports...unless they win. This is why I'm proud to be a Cyclone, we're all in this together.

    Peace.

You are spot on with this. Brewster basically takes a steaming pile of poo and says, "Let's make pate."

I also live in Minneapolis and hear Brewster from time to time. He is the biggest blowhard around especially considering the team has done NOTHING, they have 1 lucky win against Bowling Green, in overtime.

He may have a "good" recruiting class coming in, but I will believe it when I see it. I have a hard time believing that the cupboard was as bare as some make it out to be, he is a terrible coach of a terrible team with a terrible stadium at a terrible school.

    Go I State!

Brewster won't last long enough to see the new stadium I don't believe. A new coach will have to break it in. Mason took them to six straight bowls, and will probably get a pretty good job next season. They didn't know prosperity when they had it.

Sad part is that the Gophs have 6 national championships and 18 big ten titles. Along with one Heisman Trophy and dozens of all Americans in football. Looking at them today you would never think it. Ever since they moved into the dome from Memorial Stadium they haven't done anything football wise.
