Seriously, are we going to finally ditch this offense next year?

Unless we get some kind of awesome QB that can run this stupid offense we run, are we finally going to ditch it next year?

I realize you can't ditch it in midseason, but it has to go for next year IMO.

It was HORRIBLE every single year under Tom Herman, and it's just as bad or worse under Mess. I just feel terrible for this defense because they are VERY good. And then the offense goes out there time after time and does nothing.

We do NOT have the athletes, the WRs or QBs, to run this offense. I said it two weeks ago after the TT debacle and was ripped for it. And then last week our offense has a whole stunk it up again, but we got lucky and completed two bombs to Lenz and won the game so everybody was fooled again into thinking the offense was back on track, when it really wasn't. Our offensive numbers were horrible last week.

And then this week, the defense plays great again almost all day long, and the offense stinks it up again. It needs to go. Find something else that actually works and produces yards, first downs, and points.

I just feel for guys like AJ Klein and Jake Knott in their final year and playing on a great defense, but the offense once again is totally inept.

I kind of want to look at the rushing yard totals for our leading rusher the past few games..... but I already know I won't like what I find. Something does need to happen here. We also need to start keeping the ball for at least a small % of the game. A hurry up offense isn't that great if you are hurring up to punt the ball.

Let's hope they can scrap together some more yards and more plays and more time for the next one

Another intelligent response. I guess when you have nothing that you can argue against, you just resort to putting others down. Oh well. Thanks for playing.

I'd like to know this offense you speak of that will work better with mediocre QB play. The ZR/spread is a pretty good offense for a team without a great QB.

    Agree.

The reason our offense stymied today was because we had no running game. I like Shontrelle, but happy feet can make a big play, and also keep you from getting first downs when a guy like James White can plow straight ahead.

Also, how can you just bag on the offense? KSU was converting about 80% of their third downs on the day. The defense kept letting them off the hook.

Once again, the whole team lost this one, not just the offense. But clonedude needs to keep beating the drum.

I'll save my intellect for someone that wants to have an intellectual conversation. You? All you get is

Our rushing offense is horrible.... which really stinks when your OC says before the season that we are going to be a running team. Rutgers showed everyone how to beat us last year in the bowl game. Put 8 or 9 guys in the box and dare our QBs to try to hit a wide open receiver 10 yds down the field. We can't do it. Makes it very hard to run.

The passes needed to open the run game have been there. Today for example, they were either dropped or under/over thrown.

That's not a fundamental problem with the offense that's a symptom of players being ineffective at the most important time. Make those passes and the run game would have opened today.

You can see my response above, and then shut it. Any team that can only do one thing has to have exceptional players that can do it so well it can work. Barnett is not that guy. We need to threaten to run the ball, and we need better passes in the clutch. Plus our D needs to get off the field when its 3rd and longer than 5, rather than giving up the same scrambling yardage to a limp noodle armed QB.

How the hell are you counting 8-9 guys in the box?

And that part I deleted still stands, clonedude.
