    Final two offensive possesions

What happened with our last two possesions, Barnett was way off on most of his throws (with several well short of his targets). I thought he looked decent up until that point, if you take out the last two possesions Barnett was about 55% passing for the day and the offense seemed to be running alright under him with no major mistakes outside of that pick. The end of the game just seemed really strange to me, I just don't understand how you don't get the ball even close to the target, seemed like something was definitely off/wrong.

I told my buddies before Barnett took the field for the second to last drive that Jantz needs to finish regulation. Jantz is a playmaker. He would've made something happene

Last two possessions really put a sour taste to a great game.

He looked rough all day. He doesn't get picked very often but that tends to happen when about a quarter of your passes are at the receiver's ankles. The corner route throw to Horne? was an excellent throw. Outside of that throw there weren't many to celebrate.

Hindsight is 20/20. That Barnett miss reminds me of the 2 point conversion against Nebby a couple of years ago. He just missed him. Most of the cheerleaders would have completed that throw for a plus 30.

I agree. I don't think Barnett should be pulled for Jantz. But down with a few minutes left I think it is Jantz no question. Jantz would have given us at least one first down there.

    Re: Final two offensive possesions

JB was scared looked like dear in headlights how many straight incomplete passes was it at the end? Was at least 7.The other thing is why not go with SR? At first they were talking about how calm & cool he is, how he looks like a QB. Now the story he is way behind the other two. Geez I know this is political season but they keep switching their stories here.

Because it would have been ********, that's why. Put in a freshman qb, late in the game, down six, backed up on his end of the field, against the #6 team in the country and with his only "real" snaps coming in garbage time against WIU? When Barnett had been playing okay up to that point? I'd rather see Jantz come in (and I didn't want Jantz to come in). I would have been fine seeing Nealy come in at RB but not Richardson.

    Re: Final two offensive possesions

I can't fathom why we were going down the field instead of just getting the two yards we needed for a first down on our last offensive play of he game.

It was 5 yards, and I think the call to spread them out was good. Would have liked to see JB take off more (while still looking to pass).

I don't really think the pass was down field, but clear to the sideline, not even sure it was far enough for the first down. What bugged me is he threw the ball straight into the ground. 4th and 4 at you own 7, you have to throw something that has a chance.
