Point your antenna towards Altoona, that's what i had to do (But i am in des moines). Their tower is at a different location compared to 8 & 13.
Go to antennaweb.org to get the angle/azimuth to aim your antenna based on location.

Sometimes when I reflect back on all the beer I drink I feel ashamed. Then look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered. Then I say to myself, "It is better that I drink this beer and let their dreams come true than selfish and worry about my liver."

Nope. Pay for cable or Dish tv and you wont have a problem.

    Re: OTA channel 5.1

What kind of antenna do you have? 5.1 is on VHF-low, which is really bad for HD. 5, 8, and 13 all returned to their original channels, but at least 8 and 13 are on the VHF-high part of the spectrum.

5 doesn't come in well that far away. Parents live just to the north of Badger and it can be touchy. I know there are amplifiers that can increase your signal and as said earlier, make sure its well aimed. It's unfortunate.

The larger your antenna the better luck you will have. The one that I have in the attic here in Ames is 105 inches long and 103 inches wide. My reception is beautiful regardless of the season or weather.

    Re: OTA channel 5.1

Thanks to everyone that provided some information. The weird thing is we used to get it with no problem then all of the sudden it comes in bad.
