Pick 2 players that have surprised you the most this year

Two guys that are playing way ahead of what I expected out of them this year are Willie Scott and Deon Broomfield.

I've seen them both make plays that made me think, wow, where did this kid come from?

A lot can be said about how our team is being built. We don't rely so heavily on first year starters and juco transfers as much any more. We're building boys!

Who are two players that are surprising you?

Now that MBB is back, do we still have to pretend that WBB matters?

    Chris Young and Sam Richardson.

I would say Givens, but I was expecting that position to do better this year than last. Although it has surprised me a bit with how much better it is. This Dbacks coach needs to stay here as long as possible.

Maybe not surprises, but 2 people that have had some of the biggest impact are McDonough and Washington. They are playing lights out so far this year. Jansen Watson has also been playing great after a good spring/summer.

Givens and Sam Richardson. Givens is a stud and Richardson has gotten a lot more playing time than I thought he would. Great to see a backup CB play as well as he has.

I could not be happier with how our defensive backfield is looking. That unit is going to be strong for years to come.

McDonough is also a player who was expected to be a focal point of his unit, but he has surpassed my expectations and has been fantastic.

I have a feeling that his production might drop off with the QB change. JB went to Lenz a lot last year and obviously was his favorite target on Saturday.

Jansen Watson is a clear number 1 for me. The 2nd is tougher...it'd probably be between Brun and Lenz, believe it or not. Lenz surprised the heck out of me last week when he beat TCU deep twice.

Umm...I think you spoke too soon. Wait 'til next season. Not least, 'cause CPR is recuiting several JC players to bring in to compete. Probably the last time he'll do so, though.

Young is the one who has surprised me. Mostly because the coaches forecast the others through Spring ball.

McDonough and Watsen. Washington wasn't a surprise at all for me I knew he was pretty legit.

McDonough's been better than advertised. And I know it's a very small sample size, but Jared Barnett looked like a much improved QB last week.

There are a ton, but the first two that came to mind are Broomfield and George. Both have seemed like veterans in the line up from the word go.

McDonough and Givens. Was pretty scared about our line and secondary, but these guys have stepped up.
