    Advantage Bylthe

When ISU lines up against the Rebels Saturday night Todd will enjoy a distint height advantage. Two starting corners are listed at 5' 9" and 5' 11". Safeties are 5' 10" and 6' 1". Nickel Back is also 5' 10". The rebels gave up 288 yards passing to Idaho State last weekend.

Look for a big night from Todd and the rest of the receiving crew.

UNLV Has a very weak defensive line and linebacking core, so knowing Mac, I think he will use Hicks alot as well....

But will they throw it to him?

It seemed like he wasn't used like he could/should have been last week. Whether that's Meyer's or Mac's fault it really wouldn't kill us to send him deep a couple of times just to see what happens.

While slight of build, one of the corner backs is a junior transfer from USC and is highly touted. Eric Wright is 5 11, but is by all reports a good db. Nonetheless ----Advantage Blythe

From what I heard on the radio one of their corners started on USC's championship team two years ago.

not to disagree with the statement that he's good... but If he is so highly touted, as mentioned, then why is he playing for UNLV? I agree that we need to hit ol #1 more for some passes... If u have an offensive weapon, why not use him for time to time. Its not like u have to show your whole playbook to give a star receiver the ball a few times. thats just my thoughts though.

That corner Eric Wright started for USC before transfering to UNLV due to off-field issues.

Although I do agree with all of you about throwing to Blythe more often, I like a balanced attack. The calling of plays could be better in certain situations, but I think for us to be truly effective, we need to be able to be unpredictable in our choice of plays. If we do have a distinct advantage on the edge, then it needs to be exploited, just like if we are able to run through their d-line. I am all for whatever works.

Lets not forget...that also means advantage Davis and Hamilton. I'd love to see Hamilton showcase his abilities.

If we only threw a few passes to Blythe and a large number to Hamilton...I'd be happy.

I really think this kid has the ability to replace Davis this season if he shows us what he can do on the field.

I completely agree with having a balanced attack but so far as of now, it hasnt been balanced in the sense that we only hit up Blythe a couple of times throughout regulation and hit other recievers numerous times. I have confidence in all of our recievers as I believe they are one of the best recieving corps in the big 12, I would just like to see our star reciever with some more game impact... I think if we have him, we should use him.

This is where I am going to body-slam you with facts. The receiving stats from Toledo....

    RECEIVING No. Yds TD
    -------------------------------------------------
    Blythe,Todd 5 93 2
    Flynn,Austin 4 53 0
    Davis,Jon 3 30 0
    Sumrall,R.J. 2 50 0
    Barkema,Ben 1 5 0
    Nickel,Walter 1 4 0
    Hicks,Stevie 1 -1 0
    Total.......... 17 234 2

ESPN.com link to OT drive chart

    In OT...

    RECEIVING No. Yds TD
    -------------------------------------------------
    Blythe,Todd 2 54 2
    Flynn,Austin 2 14 0

So the regulation stats look like...

    RECEIVING No. Yds TD
    -------------------------------------------------
    Blythe,Todd 3 39 2
    Flynn,Austin 2 39 0
    Davis,Jon 3 30 0
    Sumrall,R.J. 2 50 0
    Barkema,Ben 1 5 0
    Nickel,Walter 1 4 0
    Hicks,Stevie 1 -1 0

Now tell me...who did Meyer throw to "numerous times" instead of Blythe in regulation? Just curious...
