    How about those frightened Irish?

1-9 after losing at home to Air Force.

How does that NBC contract look now?

I think NBC still has a valuable asset with the ND TV contract. Millions watch every week with glee as they lose to service academies, Big 10 teams, well, just about everybody

I agree. You either love them or hate them. Either way that attracts viewers, and that equals money. Just look at it as thousands of viewers every week getting to see exactly what a joke they are! So much for "outstanding" recruiting classes year in and out.

ND's games are on a major TV network coast to coast and 'round the world every week, and they make millions of dollars from their TV contract. I've been reading here in this forum for quite some time that money and TV exposure will make a winner. Apparently there must be more to it than that...

I believe that banking institutions are more dangerous to our liberties than standing armies. If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of their currency, first by inflation, then by deflation, the banks and corporations that will grow up around the banks will deprive the people of all property until their children wake-up homeless on the continent their fathers conquered.

Re: How about those frightened Irish?

    • Notre Dame is one of five schools in the NCAA to have more than 800 wins
    • Notre Dame has an all time winning percentage of .744, second only to Michigan (.745)
    • They have had seven Heisman Trophy winners
    • They have had the most players of any NCAA program to be selected in the NFL Draft (459)
    • 47 coaches and players represent Notre Dame in the Hall of Fame
How does a university with that much history surrounding the program fail to recruit enough talent to compete this year or any other year?

Then again, Nebraska is one of those five schools with more than 800 wins and Callahan has shown them a 5-6 record.

Did I mention that it's the first time in the history of Notre Dame Football that they've had nine losses in a season? Last year they were 10-2 in the regular season.

I think as soon as this BCS playoff thing works itself out, they'll go running to a conference like the big east or big ten, and NBC will STILL keep there contract

"Frightened Irish" is an okay misnomer, but I still like "Fighting". The Irish have been fighting for no apparent reason for hundreds of years. At least now the football team is inline with history.
