    Advertising on the MBB Court

I know we need the additional funds, but I was greatly disappointed to see we sold advertising space on the basketball court. I've always considered the court sacred and off limits. When Texas Tech painted O'Reilly Auto parts on their court a few years ago, I thought it was bush league.

On a positive note, nice crowd last night. That had to be one of the larger Cyclone Challenge crowds I have seen in a long time.

I had the same thought when I saw it. Disappointing, but I guess that's the nature of the business these days.

I noticed that also, but after hearing some of the names of the actual arenas across the country, its becoming more popular now. I wonder what our BBall revenue is now that we don't have to pay to practice and get all the money from concessions etc....

I did not see the game...who is the advertiser? Why the disappointment? As I have stated many times on this site, this was totally to be expected...the revenue generation is just to significant to ignore. How would you like to be Providence...they play in the Dunkin' Donuts Center?

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

The Dunkin Donuts could offer some killer promotions. I mean, think about it. For every slam dunk by an ISU player the crowd gets a free donut the next day on the way to work ;)

Pioneer logo is on the court.

I'd much rather see advertising confined to the electronic scorer's table type signs. I will completely flip out if anyone ever attempts to change the name of Hilton or Jack Trice to a company name.

I thought it was bush and ugly. Pretty soon we'll see (insert sponsor) James H Hilton ect ect

Everyone screaming for programs to get better yet no one want to try and make the money to do it.
Even the middle school that I teach at has several sponsors. You just need them in todays world.

Re: Advertising on the MBB Court

I think its a horrible idea. We don't need Monsanto, or a John Deere tractor on the court. Around the arena fine, but putting ads on the court itself is just plain wrong imo. They need to get rid of that.

    Email the athletic department...

And no offense to WVB, but the VB lines on the court are really distracting. I'm assuming those lines will be gone as soon as the seaon is over.

We need to adapt to today's big money environment or be left behind.

QFT! This is not an option in today world guys. Either we get on board or we need to sit back an watch as we continue to dwell near the bottom of our conference.

My line in the sand is naming rights for Hilton and Jack Trice. If we have to turn those into Pioneer Colliseum or Casey's General Store Stadium to adapt, then I would rather be left behind.

I was at Hilton last night and didn't even notice the ad on the floor. I must have been watching the game.
