    Cricket

Flipped over to The Deuce when the Packer game went to commercial. Cricket is on.

    Re: Cricket

Went to a cricket match when vacationing in Antigua. Interesting game that I don't fully understand. OK, I don't even partially understand.

I flipped over to this for a couple of minutes. I have no idea what in the hell they're trying to do.

    Re: Cricket

The only thing I know about it is that baseball was derived from it, with the innings and the obviously the pitcher and batter. But, whoa. I do think these "obscure" sports like cricket and rugby can be interesting though.

The difference between rugby and cricket is that rugby is at least not so far from football that a person with no knowledge of rugby can watch it in passing and at least have some idea of what's going on. With cricket it's kind of like WTF?

Agreed. I flipped back over to Cricket and the same team was still "batting" how do they know when they're done??

Also, some guy is just hitting BOMBS!! Assuming that's good, of course.

Putting a Cyclone spin on it... imagine a 3 day cricket match, but tailgating WHILE watching it. That might be the right way to enjoy it, and the right level of involvement as a spectator.

    Cricket or St. Lucia?

The Twenty indicates overs (like innings).

6 runs for shot over boundary. 4 for over boundary on the bounce. Bowler tries to break wickets (swinging strike) or fielders can throw ahead of runner to break wickets or catch on the fly to end over. 6 Bowls per
Over (At bats in inning) unless an "out"ends over first. The same two batters are on pitch (a partnership) until an out is recorded and essentially run back and forth on batted ball (1 run or 2). One team bats their entire set of overs and then the other take their turn. So just the one switch from bowling to batting.

International and Australian rules are different.

And the eye talent the British and Aussie cricketers bring to India is superb.
