    Notre Dame

Currently blowing out Miami. Is it possible that this team is finally back center stage in the National powerhouse conversation?

Or does their independence now become a larger issue in the era of the "Super-Conference"?

I sure hope they aren't back, we don't need another obnoxious fan base getting out of hand

    Re: Notre Dame

They have beaten a bunch of b and c level teams at best. They need to play a quality big 12 or pac 12 or sec team, if they can win then we can start to look at them as ligit but right now beating teams that are down is not quality wins.

Notre Dame is good this year, but I think their schedule will eat them up this year. The still have to play Stanford, Okla, and USC.

    Re: Notre Dame

As far as I'm concerned, they have yet to play anybody:

    Sat, Sept 1 1-0
    Sat, Sept 8 2-0
    Sat, Sept 15 3-0
    Sat, Sept 22 4-0
    Sat, Oct 6
    NBC
    Tickets

Prior to this game they're 85th in passing yards, 86th in rushing yards, and 75th in points for That's not too far off from ISU's numbers. While they're 4th in points against, once again, they've played nobody so far.

That's nobody? Through 4 weeks that's a pretty tough schedule. Anyway, they aren't "back" back but they aren't getting worse. Kelly is a really good coach even if he changes colors.

Yeah, Stanford, OU, and USC will be much better indicators.

Its not a cupcake schedule, but it doesn't do anything to show they are 'back' either. Any top 20 team should handle those teams.

Michigan and Michigan State are both jokes. Purdue looked like they might be the sleeper Big 10 team until they laid a gigantic egg against a sad Michigan team. I really don't see what everyone else sees in Miami. Let's not even discuss Navy.

Precisely. Show up for these next three weeks and then I'll change my tune.

    Re: Notre Dame

Winning close games against B1G competition is good, but not great. Let's see how they fare against USC, Stanford and OU, all of which are better than those teams. One win of those three and Notre Dame may get a BCS game bid.

    Re: Notre Dame

Norte Dame and Kansas may be the only two teams in the country with tougher schedules than ISU. They have a tough schedule
