Why I want this TCU win(Fort Worth Texas resident)

Disclosure: I went to Iowa State, am from Iowa, modest upbringing.

Being a younger guy and living in Fort Worth, TX I rub shoulders with the TCU students a lot. While I certainly have friends who are TCU alums and are great folks, I have a chip on my shoulder regarding a lot of these folks.

For one, their tuition is over $34k a year and a private school. You would not believe how many of these kids drive around their brand new BMW SUVs and Mercedes that mommy and daddy bought them. Am I jealous, absolutely. Most adults in their 30s couldn't afford these cars.

Secondly, the TCU campus is private. Whereas Iowa State holds VEISHA to welcome the public to its campus and other events, TCU is the exact opposite. It's an all inclusive club that is not part of the community at all. It's not just the school though, its the students attitudes. The holier than thou attitude talking to them. The rich boy look is rather hilarious. You go to a TCU bar and the dudes are all wearing the same quaf hair style, fishing shirt, and slippers.

Thirdly, Gary Patterson not kicking the QB off the team after he admitted to using cocaine and ecstasy...really?? Even the hawkeyes booted their RB after a speeding incident/party. I guess Karma is a B#$.

That is all. I have effectively tripled my amount of fanatic posts today as I am so excited for this game. Go Clones!

Re: Why I want this TCU win(Fort Worth Texas resident)

I am a little in awe that Pachall is still on the team too. One half of me says maybe they just really believe in the whole admitting your sins and forgiveness thing. But the other part of me is much more cynical. This other part believes that they know they've got a new stadium to pay for and that if they're trailing ISU at half that Pachall's sudden half-game suspension will suddenly be lifted to salvage the win. I find Patterson a little sleazy.

Remember, you're unique. Just like everyone else.

Until further notice, the Big 12 tournament is best. There's an experience here. Not just the teams -- the feel, the vibe, the establishments. Iowa State not only won the pregame -- filling the nearby Power & Light District -- it won the whole damn scene.

I live around DFW myself and I agree with all the comments about TCU students. I spend quite a bit of time in that area and it is true. I am sure there are many that don't fit that description, but they are outweighed by those that do. Also not understanding why Paschall's is even suiting up for this game...also makes me believe he will play and that will make Paterson nothing but a sleeze bag.

TCU reminds me of Baylor a little bit. A private institution that likes to be a little lenient on the rules. Hopefully we roll them tomorrow.

Patterson is a dbag. Paschall should be kicked off the team with all the ******** he has done while at a so called "Christian school." If we had a QB that acted this way he be gone!! I like West Virginia a lot better already.

And yet despite all these strong opinions, when given the choice of anywhere to work and live including Iowa, you choose to live in Ft. Worth and mingle with TCU students and go to TCU Bars.

Paschal is a high school down the street. Pachall is the QB. GP has already said Pachall isn't playing Saturday and he also is now not allowing him to suit up for the game so you can rest easy.

Meh, I don't have anything against them. The new purple chrome helmets are pretty cool I think. I just hope they lose tomorrow

Did he change his mind on suiting him up? Star Telegram article critical of Patterson's handling of the situation says he's suiting up but not playing him.

I like the Frogs a lot better than the team they replaced, aTm. I want the win just because the Clones need it. Same as every other game this season. Go State!
