Where to watch the game in Chicago?

I'm going to be in Chicago for the weekend. Anyone have suggestions on where to watch the game with some good beer?

Fizz has good food and beer. Haven't been to Corcoran's for a game.

Yes, Cocorans is very close to Second City.

I prefer Fizz because they featured the Cyclones on their main screen. Never been to Cocorans.

Gotcha I think I've been there then. I don't think it was my cup of tea, if I'm recalling correctly.

Coming to Chicago for the Marathon. Sounds like Fizz is the preferred gamewatch location?

I think Corcorans is fine. Last time I was there they had the whole coach house reserved for ISU fans (with sound). If you're staying anywhere near the loop, as I assume you are for the marathon, It's not really worth it to go all the way to Lakeview /Roscoe Village to go to Fizz. You can also just ask someone to turn the game on at virtually any other bar, as long as its not a bar affiliated with a conflicting game.

We'll be staying near the loop, but I don't mind going a bit farther for a little more fun with some fellow Cyclones..

Re: Where to watch the game in Chicago?

Fizz is a really good place to watch. Probably will be there myself this Saturday. The only issue I have ever had with watching games in Chicago is when games are regional broadcast. Been burnt a couple of times when I (and Fizz employees) thought the game was on, but another game was broadcasted that day due to the region.
(Example: ISU vs NU 2010 was bumped for Joe Pa's 400th win game)

For sure. I'd assume there will be a pretty good crowd at Corcorans as well, which is much closer (and I'm partial to old town). Last time I went (UCONN last year), ther were proabably 30 or so cyclone fans there.

Re: Where to watch the game in Chicago?

I'll be going to Fizz tomorrow.
For the Iowa game a couple weeks ago there was probably around 100 Cyclone fans there. There probably won't be as many for this game, but I would expect 30-40 fans.

I've never been to Corcoran's before. However, I was talking to some Cy fans at Fizz during the Iowa game and they said that Corcoran's doesn't get as many ISU folk as Fizz does. I don't know how much truth there is to that, as I've never been there.

Just hop on the Brown Line and get off at "Paulina" and it's about 2 blocks south on Lincoln Ave.
