More than 11 months since our last loss in Ames!

On a positive note, albeit a bit stretched, we have just experienced more than 11 months in a row without losing a football game in Ames!

We last lost at home on October 22, 2011 against Texas A&M.

When was the last time we went that long between losses in Ames?

That's not even a full year. That's like celebrating a two game winning streak.

Granted, it is spin. After the loss, I noticed that it felt like it had been a long time since we had lost at home. Indeed, it had been more than 11 months ago!

    10/8/05 - 10/7/06 was even longer.

Actually, it is a four game winning streak . . . including 9 months of enjoyment after beating the #2 team in the country.

I'll call it a streak when we can finish one entire season undefeated at home.

I thought we lost in NYC. Was it all a bad dream?

    Has that ever happened?

I'm pretty sure it hasn't happen in Jack Trice. I know that 2002 they had the chance until they quit in the second half of the UConn game.

Yes, we went undefeated in Ames for the entire 1976 football season. There may have been others but that's all the time I had to look them up. In fact we went from 11-20-1975 to 11-05-1977 without a home loss in Ames.

Correction: We lost to Oklahoma at home in the 1976 season. Thanks to Wesley for the reminder.

And it is pathetic that it is something that would be considered remarkable. It is not remarkable.

I vividly remember losing to Oklahoma at home that year because ISU played them really tough that day.

Woops, I missed that loss at home to Oklahoma, dang. So we did not go undefeated at home through the 1976 season, we had one home loss.
