Does Rhoads Need To Take Over Playcalling

Seriously, our game mangement is just awful... Mess's gameplanning is a joke... I have never seen more bland, redundant, predictable, nonsensical plays... we run 2 zone reads for minimal gains on 1st and 2nd then the qb is screwed on 3rd... what needs to happen to get some inventive playcalling? we need to mix it up, do something... cuz it doesnt matter whos on the field, these plays wont work vs anyone...

A new level of dumb has been unlocked. I happen to think Rhoads maybe needs to stay out of the offense completely.

This seems like a much better idea than extra involvement. Offense just might not be his thing.

Agreed, but he works as directed. It's not like the OC just goes out there and puts something together with no input/guidance from the head coach.

Doesn't make sense for a defensive minded guy to make offensive calls.

Re: Does Rhoads Need To Take Over Playcalling

Rhoads has no offensive coaching experience, so if you're asking a serious question, the answer is no way in h*ll.

Re: Does Rhoads Need To Take Over Playcalling

Rhoads has let the coordinators make the calls since he's been in Ames. I would prefer he continue to do that.

Re: Does Rhoads Need To Take Over Playcalling

Rhoads is a defensive guy. So no. I wouldn't want him calling the offensive plays. Hell, look at what Sherman did at aTm. Guy was/is an O-coordinator in the NFL. Called his own offense at aTm. Got run out of town in 4 years.
