They will have 7 wins by the time the season is over, that bowl sounds about right. Either that or insight.com.

Either Minnesota or Western Michigan is going to take them pukes to the woodshed and turn all their fans into weeping toddlers so we don't have to worry about this nightmare. One of them wins and I will be a secondary fan of theirs for life.....

Right behind my first favorite team ISU and my second favorite team, whoever is playing EIU.

That would be truly hilarious. However, odds are they end up playing Virginia and getting a good old fashioned butt stomping. I'll go Virginia 31 Iowa 3

Where is southernhawk when the gauntlet has been thrown down? On the hawkeye board? I am sure Iowa will be favored in the next two games. Right?

    Virginia 21 - Iowa 0.

First, I'm the biggest Minnesota and W. Michigan fan for the next two weeks. But if it doesn't happen......

I live out here in ACC country (Durham, NC). UVA isn't that good. I definitely think they are better than Iowa, but I they are overrated. Their only good victories are UCONN (hard for me to admit this is a good win, but it is) and Wake Forest (see previous comment). In addition, they've been barely squeaking out victories in nearly all of their games. I still think the Big Ten is freaking awful this year (and nearly every other year), and that UVA will beat Iowa if they play, but I don't think they'll blow them out.

I hate the hawks so much.

I also just noticed that they have Michigan getting an at large bid to the BCS Rose Bowl. What the hell? If they play in a BCS game I may be done with football forever. Further proof as to how bad the Big Ten is. My god.

Michigan will never make the BCS, they have too many losses.

Don't they play OSU at home this year?? I wouldn't be shocked to see them win that and take the Big10 automatic slot.

We have 15-13 and we can hang our hats on that if we are so concerned over the squaks. I personally don't care if they get a BCS bowl or play in the Marry-Your-Sister bowl in Arkansas. Clones are in Ames and in the Big 12. That's all that matters.

They beat Ohio State (which is a very real possibility), and they are an automatic BCS team. They won't be playing in the NC, but they will be in the Rose Bowl. Ohio State goes as an at-large team, and you probably get either Oregon or LSU in the NC game (maybe both), or the Big 12 winner, depending on how it shakes out.

I think Iowa needs Michigan to beat Ohio state to go to champs sports. You never know, though. Iowa fans travel so well that they might get snapped up first in the tier of 7 win teams in the Big 10 and end up at a pretty good bowl.

It stinks, but that's just the way it's set up. On the plus side, if they lose either of the next two games, they likely go to Motor City or nothing at all.

Wherever Iowa goes I am confident that they'll be competitive, or pull an upset win, and all their fans will say "Told you so."

Re: Iowa to Champs Sports Bowl-Rivals.com

Oh, I think Michigan has a great shot at getting into the BCS. They're on a roll now and get to host Ohio State. Only thing is, Carr can't seem to beat the Buckeyes. If I had to pick the winner though, I'd take Michigan by 3 in that one.

And...that scenario would suck, as most likely the mediocre Big 10 would get 2 BCS teams. Ick.

As far as Iowa, don't really care too much. If they make it, good for them. It's not their fault the Big 10 has ties to 5,000 bowls.
