    TTU fun facts

-Tech is averaging 230 rush yds per game at 6.1 yds per carry with 4 tds
-they average 368 passing yds per game (doege is at 286 and brewer is at 77)
-they have averaged 50.3 points per game
-doege has completed 74% of his passes... dang!!!

impressive numbers, but against crappy teams

-tech so far has split playing time at RB between 3 guys, telling us they have some depth there. two guys have 34 carries each and the other is at 31.
-they have 4 guys in double digits for receptions
-on defense, tech has allowed 10 points per game, 75 rush yards and 85 pass yards per game

again, they haven't played anyone tough like we have

    now for the good guys

-isu has 74 first downs and only allowed 39. nice margin!!
-isu opponents have only completed 48% of their passes on 110 attempts, with just 2 tds and 4 ints
-on 100 carries, isu opponents are nly averaging 3.3 yds per carry with just 1 td
-we have given up 10.7 points per game with 280 yds of offense allowed per game
-jantz has completed 70% of his passes. this NEEDS to keep up!! 6 tds and 4 ints for steele
-we have 4 players in double digits for receptions
-we have THE BEST punter in the nation
-we average 175 yds on the ground but only 4.1 yds per carry

    This is Ophion speaking.

Sagarin rankings of opponents thus far

    Tulsa - 52
Iowa - 62 (Iowa's CMU loss actually dinged our SOS pretty bad but won't matter after we play 8 top 27 Big 12 teams)
    Western Illinois - 191

    NW State - 149
    Texas State - 155
    New Mexico - 124

    1. Texas Tech is the 2nd largest contiguous campus in nation but has more toilets than any campus in the world.
    2. There isn't much do to in Lubbock other than football and tortillas. Some fan thought it would be a great idea to combine both and so fans started throwing tortillas on the field during games. Eventually the tortilla factory ramped up supply to meet the demand, but when the factory ended up going out of business when the tradition was discontinued. This is why Lubbock can't have nice things.
    3. 3 out of 5 current graduates find full time employment at Domino's.
    4. Texas Tech used to be known as the matadors. Claiming to be the best in the world they sent 3 of their best to 1936 International Matador Competition in Madrid, Spain. The matadors finished in the last 3 and were told they were the worst matadors in the history of the world and that their costumes were tacky. The IMA(International Matador Association) told Texas Tech that they were no longer allowed to use the name matadors as it was a disgrace and TT was barred from ever entering the competition again. In anger of the news, the 3 disgraced TT matadors raided and pillaged towns in Spain as they were leaving. Soon afterwards they became known as the red raiders.
    5. The Texas Tech fan base is the largest consumer of imaginary guns and bullets. Bang, bang!

    3. 3 out of 5 current graduates find full time employment at Domino's. This one was a little weak. Overused by Aggies.

-The design of the "Raider Red" mascot was insisted upon by then current university president Grover E. Murray in 1971, unintentionally giving credence to popular rumors at the time that he had a fetish involving his wife dressing as Yosemite Sam.
