    Field seats

Has anyone ever had field passes before? I just got some from a buddy for saturday's game but I don't really know what to expect. I think with the huge score board it'll be all right, but are there places to sit or do you have to stand the whole time? Either way, Im just pumped that I get to go to the game on saturday!

    Re: Field seats

Yes, I have. It is pretty cool, because you can hear the smack talk and the hits pretty well. However, it is a lot harder to see what is going on.

    Re: Field seats

I think everyone should experience it once, but it really isn't a good way to see a game.

    Re: Field seats

I had field passes for Texas last year. Here are a few things:

-Cool to be on the field and hear everything going on (Rhoads giving it to refs and players)
-Pretty hard to follow the game unless you want to stare up at the scoreboard all game
-Fred was down there with some recruits before the game which was pretty cool to see
-Look alive, my dad and I almost got taken out by Jaxton Shipley last year after he was pushed out of bounds on an end around

    Re: Field seats

I have been there twice before.
    - No seats
    - Pretty easy to walk behind the players when going from one end the other
    - If you are tall (6'2"+) you should be able to see "OK", if not, you might have to position yourself away from the line of scrimmage a little.
    - As other noted - good to experience it once. Enjoy!

    Re: Field seats

If you would like to see the game a little better I would recommend standing on the visitor side. There are fewer people there and you will have a much better view.

    Re: Field seats

Thanks for the advice, I'm really excited. I'm thinking that I won't get a great view, but honestly I wanted to hear the game up close. I love hearing the pads hit and the trash talk, makes me feel like I'm in the game. It'll be fun to see CPR up and close during the game and see how fired up he gets.

    Re: Field seats

Can't stand on the visitors side anymore. They ended that a few years ago. I have had sideline passes my whole life. When I was a kid I was a ball boy also. It's a great way to feel the game. To see it you usually have to beat the team down to the side the ball is on. Seriously you have to run down there before the team get's down there. It's a cool thing to be able to do. I love it down there.

    Re: Field seats

I know a rather large donor that would give my buddies and I a field pass once a year for about three-four years. It is a really cool way to watch the game. Great memories other than one of the games I was on the field for was a game on Nov. 27th 2004, when we decided to **** a pretty important game down our legs. I will never forget the complete silence of the players and coaches.

    Re: Field seats

Hey guys, so I have been a life long fan -- been to MANY games -- but I also bought 4 Field seat tickets for my fiance and I and my buddy and his girlfriend (This weekend they will official be converted from Hawk fans, which has been a couple year process). I also have some questions:

    1. We have 4 tickets in the second row. Are these seats just the row of like 3 bleachers in the south endzone?
    2. I have been seeing people say Field Passes. Are these different than what I got?
    3. If not, do we get to roam the sidelines with these tickets? (Maybe a dumb question)

Thanks for any info and any more insight from people who have experienced The Jack like this before. This week has been going SO slow and Saturday needs to be here NOW!

    GO STATE!

    Re: Field seats

I am with a group of people with various tickets ranging from 5 rows up around the 20 yl to halfway up the upperdeck.
Also been on the field for games several times. Field is a good experience for the atmosphere, but as others have said, you will have a little harder time seeing the bigger picture of the game. Usually when I have been tailgating and am in hardcore fan mode I use the seats closest to the field. If I am getting up there just before gametime and want to see a little more of the x's and o's and how the plays are developing, I sit up top.

    Re: Field seats

I used to get field passes when I would do colors before the games. I always had tickets but would use my field pass as I loved the atmostphere. You can see the game better from the stands but it is great being on the grass. I would recommend it to anyone at least once. This would have been around 10 years ago, but I don't recall any seating for you. You had to stay where the press where (on the ends of the bench).
