Sports Illistrated.com Baylor is top 25 but ISU isn't, explain that.....

College Football Rankings - Associated Press Top 25 Poll - SI.com

Baylor barely beat a decent LMU team... uhhhh, no love for the Cyclones, and residual love for RG3?

    Is LMU worse than Iowa?

I'd say it's more abouts teams falling out (Michigan, UCLA, Arizona) than about Baylor justifying anything on the field at this point. If we keep winning, we'll be in too.

It's apparent ISU has not beaten anybody with a pulse yet. Tulsa and Iowa were no big accomplishments.

Re: Sports Illistrated.com Baylor is top 25 but ISU isn't, explain that.....

We haven't beaten a team that shows we're Top 25 yet. Baylor is playing well, and they beat ULM who beat Arky and who barely lost to Auburn who barely lost to #2 LSU. SOS matters and our opponents haven't done much.

Remember, you're unique. Just like everyone else.

Until further notice, the Big 12 tournament is best. There's an experience here. Not just the teams -- the feel, the vibe, the establishments. Iowa State not only won the pregame -- filling the nearby Power & Light District -- it won the whole damn scene.

Baylor started the season ranked higher and ISU has a history of getting no respect...no big surprise and not worth making a big deal about it

Tulsa was an OK win. They're still C-USA. Looked good doing it, but I repeat, still C-USA.

LOL. Beat a team that beat a pathetic Arkansas team and 1-3 AU?
SOS matters? ISU's SOS of past opponents is higher than BU's.

Tulsa knocked off a team yesterday that gave Oregon all they could handle two weeks ago. Tulsa is a damn good team and would probably finish 2nd in the Big 10.

Not saying Baylor deserves to be ranked either. This is just an SI poll, and Baylor is coming off an excellent year. Gotta earn the respect.

No they didn't, and no they wouldn't. Did you even bother to look up the stats for the Fresno State - Oregon game? Oregon was up 35-6 at the half, and held Fresno to 131 total yards. Fresno did not even come close to giving Oregon all they could handle. Not to mention, the transitive property in football is dumb. CMU beat Iowa and scored more points than ISU did in doing so. Does that mean CMU > ISU?

And no, they would not place 2nd in the Big Ten. I know it's common to pimp up an opponent to make certain wins look better (see Podalak with NIU's defense), but that doesn't mean said pimping is true. Even if they did hypothetically place 2nd in the Big Ten, that wouldn't be saying much this year, but no they wouldn't.

Lets just say Tulsa is the best team we have faced this season. They will likely not lose another game all year. They are a better opponent than Baylor, Texas Tech, and outside of ISU, a better team than Iowa has faced. Yes Louisiana Monroe is good, but their best win is against a really bad Arkansas team.
