Will TTU game be a shoot out?

We all know TTU likes to throw the ball. If ISU can't get the running game going and can't control the clock, does this game turn into a shoot out? Will our defense allow TTU to move the ball through the air on us at will? Iowa State hasn't faced a passing offense like TTU yet and I still think there has been some question marks at D-back so far. I know for one we don't want this to be a shoot out, because IMO a shoot out= a loss. I'm not sure Steele is ready to carry the load in a shoot out. Yes he has lead come from behind wins, but not against Big 12 talent. Anyway we keep up with TTU if it ends up in one?

Re: Will TTU game be a shoot out?

I think the game will go between the lines of Tulsa and Iowa game
TT has not played anybody this year they have allowed 3 touchdowns so far
ISU has allowed 3 td's but that was all tulsa

I think ISU will beat TT on the line in Offense and Defense
it may be a back and forth game in first half but should be done in 2nd half

I hope our defense doesn't allow the game to become a shootout

No. Our defense is too good and our offense hasn't shown that it is not good enough yet. If both of those things hold, it will be a close game in the low 20's.

I would disagree. Take out the Iowa game (You should do that every year) and our offense has been alright and they haven't been pressured but for 3 quarters. I have my worries here though. I don't think we will hold them under that 24 number. I think we need to score more than 30 to win. If we win like 24-21, that is bad because A. we will face better offenses and B. we will face better defenses. That really doesn't make any sense but I think at the end of the year, the whole conference won't make sense. I could see the conference winner having 2 losses. The parity is incredible outside of Kansas.

Agree here. I think we'll have trouble holding them under 21 or 24 points.

The one team we let score more than 24 points, and still won, was Texas Tech. (52-38)

So, we can probably do it again

Re: Will TTU game be a shoot out?

Somebody on here mentioned it once...
I'm ok with our defense, but our offense scares the livin' **** out of me!
If we can capitalize comfortably on our offensive possessions, (limiting the 3 and outs), find the endzone, continue the misdirection plays, and control the game clock, I like our chances! However, if the game is close and comes down to whoever has the ball last, basically means whoever "makes-a-play" last, will probably win the game.

Lets hope not, it will be hard for ISU to win a shoot out.
