    Let's Talk Amardi

I'm amazed at how little people are talking about this guy. I understand that there isn't much out there about him and that no one really knows much about him. But come on this guy is a 6-9 PF that fell through the cracks after being recruited by Georgetown and Oklahoma State out of high school. He has the potential to be great! I personally think that Amardi is going to play the best of any player out of our 2013 class for the 2013-14 season.

Anyways it looks like Indian Hills updated their roster for this year. Amardi is standing 6-9 215 lbs. They list him as a C/PF. Also it says he is from Scarborough, Ontario not Toronto, Ontario. I hope by the time he gets to Iowa State he is 225. And by the time the 2013-14 season starts he is 235.

I'm really interested to see what numbers he puts up at Indian Hills. He has only played 12 games in the past 3 years. In those 12 games he averaged 13.4 pts, 9.7 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. The last game that he played was February 5, 2011. So his first game at Indian Hills will be his first game in 21 months.

I honestly think his production this year at Indian Hills is going to be similar to Gilstrap's production his one year at Gulf Coast C.C. I think that after playing a full year at a good Juco program and getting back in the basketball rhythm he is going to turn a lot of heads. I'm really glad we got in early on him, and I think we might have found another diamond in the rough.

    What are everyone else's thoughts?

Seen him play. He's nothing great to be honest. Wouldn't have an offer if we didn't have as many open schollies as we do. He could be a role player, not a star.

I'm excited about him because I think he can contribute at a position we need help a year after we loose 6(?) seniors AND he only ties up a scholly for one year and we can use that for the loaded 2014 class. Very excited about him and the planning by our coaches.

You saw him play in 2010-11 in his 12 games at Weatherford C.C? How can you say 13 pts and 10 rebounds a game in 12 games isn't anything great? He scored 32 pts and 16 rebounds, followed by 21 pts and 18 rebounds in two of his games at Weatherford. And that was a year and a half ago...think of what he will do after another full year of playing.

Yeah we lose 5 scholarship seniors. He can come in and replace Booker's production and maybe a little bit of Clyburn's production also. I honestly could see him being a 10 pts 8 rebounds a game type player. Yeah good move by the coaches to help balance the classes. Hopefully Bubu stays on the team too so we have 3 scholarships to give to the 2014 class.

    Re: Let's Talk Amardi

He's kind of an unknown, so I can understand people not talking about him a lot as there's not a ton to say beyond pure speculation. I have no doubt that our staff thinks he can contribute to what they're building, so that's good enough for me. I'm sure everyone will follow what he does this year, and the chatter will pick up once we hear more about him.

I agree. I think we should talk more about a guy that we know nothing about.

I'm not sure what your point is; CC transfers are often capable of making huge contributions to a team. Look at Floyd's 96-97 squads.

The coaching staff obviously sees some potential in this guy, and I'm not unhappy with the guys physical specs. I think guys are right to speculate that he's a semi-replacement for Booker and/or Clyburn, and CFH might even be after another PF and is just using Amardi as a backup plan.

I just don't see anything that wouldn't cause you to be optimistic about him.
