    Kansas game Nov. 17th

Couple buddies and I were thinking about making a road game this season. The Kansas game is the closest left. Anyone ever been? How was it? Tickets seem to be fairly cheap too. Only 4.5 hour drive from Ames!

Check the "sticky" thread at the top of the page. I haven't read it but it may be helpful.

I have a bad taste in my mouth from the last time there. It was either the fact that we lost our big opportunity to win the North outright or the track around their football field.

    Re: Kansas game Nov. 17th

Had a sideline/press pass in '05. I think most of us remember how that went.

I actually think the KU campus is beautiful. Lawrence didn't seem like anything special though. I think it's because it's close to KC. Didn't have too much trouble with fans before or after the game despite the outcome.

There didn't seem like too much tailgating when I was there, when there was, it was widely scattered around the stadium. Like others will say Memorial Stadium is below the bar.

    Re: Kansas game Nov. 17th

President Geoffrey stopped by our tailgate last time I went there. took a picture with us and just asked us to make sure that we weren't holding drinks in the picture.

Then we proceeded to lose the Big 12 north...

After ISU punches them in the mouth, you can get your workout in by taking a couple laps around the track.

KU has a gorgeous campus situated on top of a hill. Great to just take a walk around if you have time.

Lawrence is also kind of like Ames, but with more to do. Check out Massachusetts Street for some nightlife. Last time I was there, I stopped at The Burger Stand which is inside of The Casbah. Awesome food.

I've been to 3 games at KU and watched us lose to them with a better team 3 times (including 2005).

    I'll never go back.

Me and my friends are thinking about going just to go. They don't want to go to the game though, just party and tailgate. (one friend has friends from High School there.)

    My teams: (as of 6/15/14)
    Cleveland Browns: 4-12 - .250
    Cleveland Indians: 34-35 - .493
    Cleveland Cavs: 33-49 - .402
    Iowa State Cyclones (FB): 3-9 - .250
    Iowa State Cyclones (BB): 28-8 - .778

I wish I had had a better time the one time I went to Kansas ('07?), because I'd love for there to be a fun close road trip in the conference.

Heck, Mangino went around and ate all the tailgater food in the morning.

There's going to be thousands of ISU fans there. Surprisingly, most ISU fans I know are going.

I cant wait to take over KU!
