    Game #3 in '11 vs. Game #3 in '12

At this time last year, Steele was still fighting the turnover bug and we had a defense that stepped up big when their number was called. Two big differences I see is that Jantz has improved his completion percentage by around 20 points, and we haven't had to come from behind in the second half yet this year. Instead of needing heroics, we're getting up early & "coasting" to the finish.

But to me, the most positive comparison between the UConn game last year and the Western Illinois game this year is that we didn't lose a vital starter in this game. When he went down last year, we struggled for a couple weeks until we found our rhythm again. Hopefully, we won't stall in the crucial games coming up and we can build our momentum as the season goes on.

Jantz? Yeah, I know he went down with a twisted drumstick in the UConn game, but I'm referring to the player who's our MVP game in & game out: Cy the Mascot.

Now that OJ is doing time, I think that UConn Campus Security have taken his place on the golf course, "looking for the real Cy-assaulters".

I agree with some of your post. The biggest differences I see are those 3 wins last year was against far better competition than this year, we can't run the football effectively (we rushed for 200 last year against a good Iowa team) however, we are still fighting the TO bug. That's 6 in 3 games.

Tech will stack the box and play our receivers man to man. Neither Iowa state qb or WR have proven they can exploit this consistently.

    That better change..
