What do you all think we will be ranked tomorrow? Beating #1 but having 4 losses...Without any scientific research I think we'll be in the 16-18 range.

I wonder how many consecutive weeks CJL and company have been in the top 25?!

we aren't yet afforded the same favoritism that Penn State and others receive. I'm hopeful we'll be into the teens, but I doubt it. Luckily, unlike football, the poll has no bearing on our tournament ranking. That's where CJL's tough scheduling will help us out.

btw, Texas lost to IL on Friday and has a couple other losses. Hopefully our matches with them won't be 3 and outs like the last couple years.

Re: Big 12 Volleyball Scores and Standings (9/15)

We should move up some, but probably not a bunch. This is what happened to the teams just above us in the rankings this past week, for what it's worth:

#24 Kentucky lost to Florida (3-0)
#23 Illinois won vs Texas (3-2), Central Florida (3-0), and Cincinnati (3-1)
#22 Michigan lost to Western Kentucky (3-2), won vs Eastern Michigan (3-0) and Duke (3-2)
#21 Ohio State lost to Pepperdine (3-0) and Florida State (3-1), won vs Houston (3-1)
#20 Dayton lost to Kansas State (3-0) and Minnesota (3-0), won vs Tulsa (3-0)
#19 Kansas State won vs Dayton (3-0), Minnesota (3-2), and Tulsa (3-0)
#18 Pepperdine lost to UCLA (3-0), won vs Florida State (3-0), Ohio State (3-0), Houston (3-0)

Plenty of room for movement since a lot of teams ahead of us dropped at least one match.

All people who make sweepingly generalized, stupid, uninformed comments are idiots.

    (maybe)

Re: Big 12 Volleyball Scores and Standings (9/15)

Baylor is coming in riding a 9-match winning streak. Their only loss was to Hawaii. They did garner a win versus a then-ranked team in Cal, but their schedule has pretty much been cream puffs otherwise. Still, they will be coming in with confidence built from their preseason success.

Their setter, Kate Harris, was ranked by prepvolleyball as the 23rd best player in 2009 while Allison Landwehr was 24th. However AL won the Miisouri player-of-the-year as Harris recovered from pneumonia the first half of their senior year. Harris signed w/MU but transferred after one semester when the Kreklow's signed their niece. She started to come into her own late last season as Baylor made the tournament. This year she has several double-doubles already. Of course, AL is are turning AA.
